On that occasion, he called on contractors and investors to intensify construction works in order to complete the project within the established deadlines.
Momirovi first had a meeting with representatives of the Chinese company “Power Ajna Construction Corporation”, which is carrying out the works, and then he visited the section around the Straevica Tunnel, and then other locations within the project.
“Everyone in the country knows that there has been talk of the beltway around Belgrade for decades. I hope, and I have an order from President Aleksandar Vui, that I will be the last minister to supervise the works on the beltway around Belgrade, and we have to finish. that work. In the next two years we will act in that direction, “Momirovi told Tanjug.
Remember that the section is wide and complex, encompassing several sectors, as well as that there are small concerns about what they agreed with the Chinese partners to intensify the work.
“I call on contractors and investors to intensify construction works, these are unusually good weather conditions, now we need to intensify and complete the works because it will be more difficult in December and January,” said the minister.
He points out that the dynamics have been agreed with the Chinese partners, that is, it has been defined where the works should be accelerated and where there are problems.
The problems are mostly legal in nature and related to expropriation, he said.
“We are doing everything we can to speed up the work and help the contractors get the job done right,” Momirov said.
Regarding the current epidemiological situation, Momirovi says that the construction works continue as usual and that they will not affect the works, as well as that everyone must follow the instructions of the Crisis Tab and adhere to them.
The works of this bypass are complex, there are several sections and the deadline for the completion of the work is the end of 2022, the minister recalled.
“We are trying to try to complete the road to Bubanj Potok, in the sector 6 stretch, in the first half of 2022, and let the traffic flow,” Momirovi said.
The section in which the works are carried out is divided into three sectors, as follows: Sector 4 includes the construction works of the left lane of the highway from the Sava bridge near Ostrunica to the Orlova loop, in the length of 7.7 km. Within sector 4, the left lane of the motorway is planned, then two tunnels: “Lipak” and “Eleznik” and the construction of three bridges: bridge no. 9, 10 and 11 (phase II), as well as the rest of the Orlova loop works (phase II).
Sector 5 includes the construction works of the left lane of the expressway from the Orlova loop to the Straevica tunnel (including the tunnel) over a length of 3.1 km. Within sector 5, it is necessary to inform the full left lane of the highway, which includes the construction of the route, the pipe of the left tunnel of the Straevica tunnel and 3 bridges: bridge no. 13, 14 and 15.
Sector 6 includes the construction works of both lanes (full profile) of the road from the Straevica tunnel to the Bubanj Potok loop (including the loop), in a length of 9.6 km. Within sector 6, the right and left lanes of the road are fully planned, including the construction of the route, the Beli Potok tunnel, the Avala and Bubanj Potok loops, as well as 2 bridges – bridge no. 16 and 17.
The “Bubanj Potok” circuit is part of the beltway section around Belgrade from the bridge over the Sava near Ostrunica to Bubanj Potok, and is 20.4 kilometers long.
The main contractor of this section, whose construction is 207 million euros, is the Chinese company “Power Aine Construction Corporation”, and the subcontractor is the Azerbaijani “Azvirt”, as well as national companies.
Authorities previously indicated that the completion of the beltway will allow freight traffic to leave the city center after several decades.
Zoran Drobnjak, Acting Director of “Roads of Serbia”, also visited the works with Minister Momirov and representatives of the Chinese company.
