The killer, who detonated a bomb planted under Strahinja Stojanovic’s BMW X5 jeep with a remote control on Sunday, September 13, followed his vehicle for 8 kilometers before pressing a button and killing him.
Stojanović, who has a thick file behind him, left his apartment in Galenica for New Belgrade around noon on the fateful day. At that time, his girlfriend, the Colombian Sonja Suárez González (45), was with him.
As he said in questioning in the police, on the fateful day, they went to the New Belgrade estuary to watch car races and everything seemed normal, with no indication of what would happen just a few minutes later.
It is suspected that the killer probably placed a highly destructive but precisely targeted explosive device under Stojanović’s vehicle during the night between Saturday and Sunday.
However, as the investigation showed, the explosive device had to be activated with a remote control, so it is clear that the killer followed Stojanović’s vehicle for 8 kilometers before detonating the bomb.
Police removed images from all the streets that Stojanovic passed on the fateful day to try to identify the killer.
It’s pretty sure that the killer decided to follow Stojanović and make sure he was definitely in the vehicle, and because two years ago when someone tried to kill him identically, Strahinja Stojanović got out of the “Audi” he was under at the last minute . A bomb was planted on him and he escaped death, while his then-girlfriend, Olatz Bilbao, a former Miss Marbella, was seriously injured.
The first results of the investigation show that the same explosive was used in both attacks on Strahinja, which probably means that the same team tried to kill him the first time, but this time they left nothing to chance, so they detonated the bomb only when they were sure that Stojanovic was there. vehicle. It is not ruled out that the murderer was careful not to kill anyone else, so he did not activate the bomb a few minutes before.
A terrible explosion erupted at noon Sunday on Omladinskih Brigada Street in New Belgrade, just as the BMW X5 was turning into the street. Numerous witnesses to the blast were shocked and said they thought the walls around them were falling down until they realized what had happened. After that, they saw a BMW blown up on the road, and then they heard a woman yelling and calling for someone.
Soon, numerous teams of police, firefighters and ambulances arrived at the scene. Police immediately blocked the street and removed all passersby from the scene, while medics tried to help Stojanovic, who was still showing signs of life at the time, although he was left without both legs in the blast.
Sonja Suárez González was by Stojanovic’s side the whole time, holding his head and crying as he exhaled in the middle of the street.
Who is Stojanovic?
Stojanović made himself known to the general public in 2013, when he was rumored to have injured his godfather, Miloš Vidaković, in Galenica that year. Although he knew who had injured him, Vidaković did not want to reveal it to the police. When Vidaković was assassinated in Budva on July 2 of the same year, apparently several hundred witnesses, Stojanović was mentioned as the mastermind of that crime. However, he was not convicted of this crime. The settlement was admitted by Miloš Vojnović, who said that the payer was Branislav Šaranović. Vojinovic, however, said that he hid in Stojanovic’s apartment in Budva for a month before killing his target. This statement was confirmed and the indictment alleges that DNA traces of Strahinja Stojanović were found in the apartment.
Vidaković also told the court that Stojanović came to Montenegro in 2013 with the task of killing Luka Đurović, who was a former close associate of Luka Bojović.
In the end, Strahinja’s friend Slaviša Novaković, who is still at large, was convicted for participating in that liquidation, but also in the murder of Nikola Bojović, Luka Bojović’s younger brother. Novakovic is also mentioned as one of the participants in the execution of Rade Rakonjac, a close friend of Bojovic.
Strahinja’s father was killed in late September 2015 in the Galenika settlement, and Stojanović himself was among the suspects in this crime!
Shortly afterwards, Strahinja Stojanović retired and was not heard from for some time.
A couple of years later, he was issued a court order for causing general danger. He was arrested in the Netherlands and extradited to Serbia, and was released in April 2018.
A few months later, they planted a bomb under his car, but it detonated the moment he got out of the vehicle because he forgot his cell phone in the apartment. The explosion injured his then girlfriend, Miss Olatz Bilbao.
Even then, Stojanović did not want to withdraw from the criminal environment, but it was soon suspected that he was related to the liquidation of the well-known Belgrade lawyer Mišo Ognjanović, who was Luka Bojović’s then defense lawyer. Ognjanović reportedly mentioned several times that Stojanović and another young man had been following him for months. He was questioned on these charges, but was never arrested.
After that, Stojanović spent a lot of time outside the borders of Serbia. In 2019, he met the Colombian Sonia Suárez González in Spain and established a relationship with her. For almost a year the two traveled around the world and everything was posted on social media.
At the beginning of the year, they arrived in Serbia, visited Zlatibor and Kopaonik, and Sonja posted all of that on social media, including photos of Strahinja and the exact locations of his whereabouts, and most likely revealed to the killers where Stojanović was.
He only told police that the two had been traveling, touring restaurants and training together for months.
She was banned from leaving Serbia until the investigation was completed, and many are suspicious of her behavior on social media after the tragedy, where she commented on a friend’s photo, and posted quotes and clips that speak about the human soul.
