The famous violinist Stefan Milenković could be the first great artist to return from the United States to live in Serbia.
New Culture Minister Maja Gojković and Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vučević broke the good news to journalists on Friday during a visit to the School of Music and Ballet. The famous violinist was offered to be the manager of his concert hall, which will be the first of its kind in Serbian Athens.
– We are close to Stefan Milenković, the greatest star of world classical music, who comes to live and work in Novi Sad. We offered you the best conditions, and the most deserving are the foundation “Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture” and the Municipal Administration of Culture. When we see that the most successful are returning to Serbia, it is a signal for others not to leave, to stay in their homeland, Vučević said.
During the visit to the School of Music and Ballet with the new Minister of Culture, Maja Gojković, affirmed that the budget for 2021 includes the last stretch for the completion of the construction of the building, and a little more than 300 million for the purchase of equipment. Due to the crown, the capital of Vojvodina will be the European Capital of Culture in 2022.
– Novi Sad is a clear example that if someone has a certain dream, and that was the European Capital of Culture project, which I started with great enthusiasm in a letter to Brussels in 2008, a few years later it becomes a reality, thanks to Mayor Milos Vucevic’s audience and hard work. the enthusiasm of those gathered at the foundation “Novi Sad 2021” – said the minister.
