The funeral of His Holiness Patriarch Irinej is celebrated today in the Temple of Saint Sava. A liturgy is taking place, and this event is attended by all state leaders, as well as a large number of officials from the region.
Due to the epidemiological situation, only priests serving the liturgy, as well as state officials and representatives of other religious communities, along with members of the choir, are in the temple.
The funeral is attended by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik.
Before the start of the liturgy, Prime Minister Ana Brnabić came to the Church of St. Sava.

Among the participants in the liturgy are the prime minister appointed for the composition of the new Montenegrin government, Zdravko Krivokapic, as well as the Serbian ambassador to Montenegro, Vladimir Bozovic, and the Russian ambassador to Serbia, Aleksandar Bocan-Kharchenko.
After the service in the extension of the liturgy, the President of Serbia, Metropolitan Chrysostom, Dodik, and the head of the Belgrade Cathedral Church, Archpriest-Staurophore Petar Lukić, will bid farewell to the patriarch.
The earthly remains of the Patriarch will be deposited in the tomb of the crypt by priests from Belgrade.
In front of the Temple, the believers come early this morning to pay their last respects to the patriarch, patiently waiting their turn to enter the temple itself.
At the entrance of the temple, there are members of the Serbian Army Guard, and a large number of believers light candles in a small church dedicated to Saint Sava, which is located next to the temple.
A large number of believers are present in front of the temple, and two video cameras have been installed showing the sacred liturgy and the funeral of Patriarch Irinej, so that believers who wish can participate and continue, since the stay in the Temple is limited . due to the epidemiological situation.
Serbian Patriarch Irinej will be the first head of the Serbian Orthodox Church to be buried in the Temple of Saint Sava.
In addition to the tomb where the 45th patriarch will rest, there are several other tombs because in the future, the leaders of the Serbian Orthodox Church will be buried in the crypt, unless they express a different wish.
