The public water management company “Srbijavode” started cleaning Cukaricki rukavac today, the city administration announced. Unpleasant odors in Rukavac, near Ada Ciganlija, have been causing problems for residents of that part of the city for weeks.

The cleanup was started in accordance with the decision of the water inspector of the Belgrade City Secretariat for Inspection Affairs, the announcement of that secretariat states.

“Based on the citizens’ reports, the water inspector of the Secretariat for Inspection Affairs carried out an extraordinary inspection at the mentioned place. On that occasion, the Environmental Protection Agency was ordered to take an emergency sample of the water of Topčiderska Reka. effluent discharges-sanitary water ”, it is indicated in the announcement.

It is recalled that the water inspection of the Secretariat for Inspection Affairs of the city of Belgrade and the representatives of JVP “Srbijavode” visited the Čukarica arm to solve the problem: clean the sludge and ensure adequate water flow.

The Secretariat’s water inspector approved the Decision and Srbijavode began its implementation today.

H1 television has already written about this problem several times, and the authorities did not have an answer on what they would do to solve the problem. Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić previously claimed that the inspection went to the field and determined that the faeces caused a problem, and claimed that the problem was the responsibility of Srbijavod.
