The president of the Serbian Patriotic Alliance (SPAS), Aleksandar Šapić, and the Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesić, want to demolish the old tram bridge because the noise of the tram bothers the inhabitants of Belgrade in the water, and not because traffic, announced the Freedom and Justice Party (SAA).

The SAA announcement states that only Goran Vesić and the Belgrade progressives called that bridge a mockery, and since yesterday, his coalition partner Aleksandar Šapić.

“Where he sees ‘mockery’, we see a bridge that represents a rare example of the war heritage of World War II, but above all a reminder of the heroic work of master Miladin Zaric, who saved him from the German bombardment,” said the SAA.

Therefore, according to them, this is not a decision that has to do with traffic.

“This is a question of who we choose between Master Miladin Zaric on the one hand and his sheiks, businessmen and supporters who bought an apartment in Belgrade on the water, on the other,” SAA said.

They also recall that 30,000 vehicles cross this bridge every day and believe that Belgrade does not have a surplus, but a shortage of bridges.

“Its demolition, in addition to casting an indelible stain on our city, would expose all the inhabitants of Belgrade to torture and abnormal crowds in the period of three to four years in which a new one would be built,” they said, noting that the bridges are being torn down. alone in wars and in peace. Never.
