The Serbian Education Workers’ Union (SPRS) assessed that the current authorities “are not interested in education”, because the union’s proposal to extend school holidays by one week and that educators with chronic diseases go to the online classrooms was rejected.

A statement from the organization affirms that the directors of educational institutions complain that it is “increasingly difficult for them to organize their work,” because there is no one to change educators, teachers and other employees infected by the coronavirus.

“Children are not screened and we have no idea how many are sick, but we know for sure that there are many. There are fewer and fewer teachers in schools because they are covid-positive or isolated due to family members. We have no idea what number because the data is not published. ” , they add in the Union of SPRS.

This union also points out that the Crisis Team for the Suppression of Kovid-19 sends “disoriented signals” and that 110,000 teachers and 25,000 educators “mean nothing”.

The SPRS asked parents to help the education system by not sending children with coronavirus symptoms to classes, celebrations or training.

“One enters school today with trepidation, but not because of the lack of seriousness of teachers, educators and students, but because of the disoriented signals of the Crisis Staff, whose insane strategy is ‘If we survive until tomorrow, we’ll see what happens later'” the statement concluded.
