A 23-year-old girl was taken by ambulance to the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the Serbian Clinical Center last night, where she claimed to have given birth a few hours earlier in her apartment in the Rojkovac settlement in Obrenac.
Upon his return to Obrenovac, Dušan received information that a baby had allegedly been found in Rajkovac and went there immediately.
– I took my wife to Visegradska for gynecological problems and when I returned, it turned out that we had an emergency room in Rojkovac, where the baby was supposedly found. And the police arrived at the scene. We also searched and found nothing, the police went to the apartment to find out where the baby had been dumped. I stayed in the ambulance and it was as if something forced me to rummage through the container. In a black bag I found things that were bloody. I started to take the garbage out of the container, however, I found nothing in the first container except things – says Dušan.
As he says, then he heard something that sounded like a crying baby, so he started rummaging through another container in which he found four black bags. He gently lowered the container towards him so that some of the items in the container would not hurt the baby, if it was inside.
– I took out four bags and heard the baby cry. When I saw that one of the bags was bloody on the outside, I knew that the baby was in that bag. I did not know if it was tied, I bent down in the container that I was holding on my knees and poked the bag with my hand so that the baby could take oxygen. I called the dispatcher to inform the police team already in the field that I had found the baby. They ran out of the building. A police officer helped me a lot. She broke the whole bag that the baby was in and we took him out of the container – says Dušan.
The baby was immediately picked up and treated by field doctors, and then she was taken to the Obrenovac Emergency Service, where everything necessary was done. Subsequently, the baby was transferred to Belgrade.
– As we found out, the baby is fine. I’m happy about that, it’s an indescribable feeling. I’m the happiest man in the world – said Dusan last night after saving the baby.
The ambulance took Obrenovac to the GAK in Visegradska on Wednesday night, a baby who had previously been dumped into a container, the service told Tanjug.
That said, the baby is in good condition.
