After the Minister of Education, Mladen Šarčević, published the most recent balance of infected people in Serbian schools, one fact is striking: a very small number of infected people were reported in secondary schools. Is that an indication that everything is fine or that something is wrong?

– In the first two weeks of classes in primary and secondary schools, a total of 52 students and 20 employees were infected with the corona virus – says Education Minister Mladen Šarčević and adds that these are sporadic cases if it is known to be around 850,000 students in Serbian schools.

As the epidemiologist and crisis staff member Predrag Kon said for “Blic” in the Belgrade territory, the corona virus was registered in 11 schools.

– In those 11 schools, I have 13 infected children and a partner. For now, only in the primary school “October 20” in New Belgrade, a transfer from child to child was recorded: Dr. Kon explained the current epidemiological situation in school institutions on the territory of the capital in yesterday’s section for our article.

Today, Minister Šarčević said that 16 students were infected in Belgrade, and that there were sporadic cases in Sombor, Novi Pazar, Zaječar, Vranje, Niš, Leskovac; He emphasized and added that seven teachers were infected in elementary schools.

Kon: “I’m worried about the situation in secondary schools”

Dr. Kon says that the system is good in elementary schools, that it works, but that he is concerned about the situation in secondary schools.

– We have a situation where no high school in the city has reported having an infected student. There is a fear that cases will be solved only when the situation gets out of control. When the system works, you get data, when it doesn’t work, you don’t have data, our epidemiologist was clear.

He explained that it is unlikely that in these 15 days no high school student has had a fever, and that if the virus exists in primary schools, it must also be present in secondary schools.

– Students, in all probability, do not want to report symptoms, because now they are at the age where there is some resistance to everything that has been ordered. There is no routine communication with secondary schools unlike primary schools, but conversations are taking place with the Ministry of Education and the city’s Secretary of Education.

Infected student in Nis

However, yesterday the news arrived that the first case of the corona virus was registered in one of the schools in Nis.

– Because it was established that a student of the Nis High School was infected with the crown, a group of fifteen students with whom he shared the classroom was given self-isolation – says the head of Administration of the Nis School, Dragan Gejo.

Gayo did not specify which school the girl goes to, only that it is one of the secondary schools, but it is true that she did not get the crown at school, reports Južne Vesti.
