The results of the Sabac elections have been announced, according to which progressives have a majority. Nebojsa Zelenovic’s party questions the legality of the work of the current composition of the City Election Commission.
The list “Aleksandar Vučić – For our children Aleksandar Pajić” won 37 seats that is, about 48 percent of the votes, and “Nebojsa Zelenovic – Sabac is ours” 22 mandates and about 28 percent of the votes.
This is demonstrated by the results of the elections in Sabac confirmed today. SNS official Goran Vesić says that democracy has won in this city.
“With this decision, the elections in Sabac finally ended and this city finally freed itself from the terror of Dragan Djilas and Dusan Petrovic,” Vesic said.
The commission’s work that confirmed these results was challenged by the new opposition from Sabac. More than half of the GIKs are progressives, while other members are close to them or in a coalition, says Vera Palinkaš of Zelenović’s party, who recently resigned as a member of the commission.
“What is happening so far is, in my opinion, unprecedented. Usurping the electoral process in such an open and transparent way,” said Vera Palinkas, a former GIK member.
Tas in the balance for the quorum, which was lost when 10 members resigned, was a member of the Russian party who previously lost the right to membership but was returned in the meantime, Palinkas says.
He also claims that the court ruled on the issue of their resignations and that they received an invitation to today’s GIK meeting at 12 noon.
“The president of the City Assembly was obliged to convene the City Assembly and appoint new members, that is, those 10 new members of the electoral commission, so that the electoral commission could function in accordance with the law,” he believes. Palinkas.
It adds that there are 15 criminal charges in the Šabac basic prosecutor’s office. On Monday, he announced a new one against the President of the City Assembly, Nemanja Pajić, for illegally obtaining the seal.
Nedeljkov: The electoral process is in the grip of party interest
Rasa Nedeljkov of the CRTA organization says that it is even more obvious at the local level that the electoral process is in the grip of the party’s interest and that the legal profession is not as important as it should be.
“The only thing that would be legally clean at this time and in this situation is to make a decision on the implementation of a temporary body at the request of the Ministry of State Administration and that the president of the Assembly calls new elections in order to carry out these elections according to the law. Sabac got its representatives in the local parliament, “says Nedeljkov.
And we can’t hear what they say about all that on the SNS.
Sabac mayoral candidate Aleksandar Pajić from this party said in a telephone conversation that he did not want to give a statement for our television.
Commenting on the electoral process in this city, Zelenović said yesterday that he would also go to Strasbourg.
