Where does freedom of expression end and where does the danger to other people’s lives begin?
That question was the subject of tonight’s “Shining of Day” on Kurir Television, whose guests were Jelica Dabović and Dr. Tomislav Stevanović.
The sister of the famous basketball players Milica and Ana Dabović was recently interviewed on SBOK due to the spread of panic, on the same day and for the same reason as the president of the “I live for Serbia” movement, Jovana Stojković, against whom Dr. Stevanović filed a criminal complaint three years ago.
Milina Dorić, lawyer Jovana Stojković, Milena Vasić, lawyer YUCOM and prof. Petar Kočović with the latest statistics related to vaccines in Serbia.
“My fight against anti-vaccines has been going on for 10-15 years. My parents have doubts, mainly about MMR vaccines. With the advent of social media, Jovana Stojković, and before that, Professors Nestorović and Ivanovski from Tiršova, developed an anti-vaccination movement, which got serious. “I realized that we have to go to the judiciary,” Dr. Stevanovic began.
“You still don’t have the possibility to legally prevent them, but that is why the spread of panic and fear is obvious,” added Dr. Stevanović.
“Did you follow Zemun’s desperate father?” Dr. Stevanović asked, recalling the case of smallpox, adding:
“The fate of that child is terrible.”
Then Milina Dorić, a lawyer for Jovana Stojković, joined the program and said:
“A bad environment has been created in society. An atmosphere of lynching has been created towards people who want the right to free choice. Let’s talk about children who have autism or cancer. Why do we always only mention smallpox?” Said Milina Dorić and added:
“There are no legal measures against Jovana Stojković.”
When asked why Jovana Stojković did not accept to be a guest on “Sparks of the Day”, she replied:
“It is her choice why she is not a guest on this show.”
“If you let the lady do the talking, it will last until 8 o’clock,” Dr. Stevanovic said, continuing:
“We have been trying to communicate with the prosecutor Zivkovic for three years.”
“This Ms. Doric should come and she should be prosecuted,” said Dr. Stevanovic, and the attorney responded:
“For there to be a crime, it cannot be simply because a pediatrician says so.”
“We never asked anyone not to get vaccinated.”
The atmosphere between Dr. Stevanović and lawyer Dorić was really hot!
The floor was given to Jelica Dabović, who first addressed Dr. Stevanović, who had previously addressed her as Marija Stojaković, and then said:
“I am collateral damage, I don’t know what my connection is and who labeled me anti-vaccine.”
“When they asked me why I am against vaccination posted on social media, I replied that I did not enter anyone’s choice,” Jelica said.
On her private correspondence with a friend whose son-in-law passed away, in which she wrote: “Maybe you will save someone’s life, share this,” Jelica said:
“There is not a single phrase against vaccination on my Facebook.”
“I don’t know where I come from at SBPOK.”
Dr. Stevanović took the floor again:
“The lady didn’t understand me, I didn’t say it was Marija Stojakovic” …
“Professors Nestorović, Ivanovski, Kamenov and others have long created that atmosphere with their statements.”
Milena Vasić, YUCOM attorney, then joined:
“The threat of punishment for the basic form is from three months to three years and a fine. If done through the media, the sentence increases from six months to five years. A distinction must be made between voluntary and mandatory vaccination. When it is sanctioned to cause panic, it must start from the top, from those with the most space, and at the same time the president decorates them. It must fight against vaccines or start from the top or with an affirmative campaign ”.
Jelica Dabović spoke again:
“They asked me absurd questions at SBPOK. I was there without a lawyer.”
“I have not been vaccinated because I have been waiting a bioethical minimum of two years. When that time passes, I will be the first in line to receive the vaccine.”
Dr. Stevanović finally concluded:
“The target group of anti-vaccination promoters are the skeptics.”
“The intention of this program is to ask for vaccination. We need a moratorium and that we all resort to vaccination.”
In the end, Jelica Dabović said:
“I prefer to belong to the skeptics. I’m not anti-vaccine. I experienced great stress from the arrest at six in the morning, as well as my neighbors, who testified. “
