Virologist and microbiologist Milanko Shekler said today that there is nothing unusual for someone to be infected with the corona virus after vaccination and for symptoms of the disease to appear.

But one thing is for sure, it will have a very soft image, “said Shekler.
Shekler, an expert at the Kraljevo Specialist Veterinary Institute, added that he did not recommend that vaccinated citizens check the level of antibodies after vaccination, because, as he said, if all vaccinated people want that control, 1.5 million vaccinated people will. they will. suddenly bury doctors with a pile of samples.
“Antibodies are not the only level of protection, there is also cellular immunity, which is very important and everyone ignores it. “So the amount of antibodies is not something we should brag about and compete with each other, because that is not the only benchmark for protection,” Shekler said.
According to him, the creation of herd immunity depends on the number of infected and the number of vaccinated, and in Serbia this estimate will be based on the number of those who received vaccines, because there is no precise data on people who have the disease. and natural immunity.
He stressed the importance of wearing masks and applying other protective measures, and stated that those in the highest positions, including the patriarch and church dignitaries, must adhere to them in the most consistent way to influence others with their example.
He emphasized that the application of anti-epidemic measures is also necessary for vaccinated people, because it takes five weeks from the first dose and a couple of weeks from the second, to create minimal protection against the disease.
