Numerous citizens witnessed a horrific attack on a woman in front of a store in New Belgrade, when a security guard struck her on the head and rendered her unconscious.
One of the witnesses to this conflict reveals what really happened in front of this store, pointing out that the woman was attacked by other fellow citizens.
– On September 24, around 7.30 pm, I went to Goce Delceva’s store in New Belgrade. He passed a steel comb where two bicycles were parked about 2.5 meters to the right of the front door. A girl of about 5-6 years old was sitting on a bicycle, and a woman in a white dress was standing next to her, talking to her. During those few seconds that I spent next to them and entered the store, I think I heard the woman in a normal but loving tone persuade the girl to go into the store together and look for her mother. In those seconds, nothing was unusual and disturbing in their conversation – says the interlocutor.
As he says, while he was in the store, near the entrance, he saw a scared woman running out and saying the woman’s name out loud on her mobile phone.
– Immediately after, there was a noise and cry of the child. I saw a woman running out of the store, with a girl in her arms, who was upset. We left and a young security man accompanied us. In front of the store, a woman dressed in white argued with the girl’s mother and those who gathered because word spread that she wanted to kidnap the girl. In the electrified atmosphere, the gathered citizens stood around the woman, condemned comments and voices of “call the police” were heard, recalls the interlocutor.
As he says, the woman in the white dress was the whole time next to the bike place and defending herself with words, trying to explain her loving intention regarding the girl, who is an epileptic, who will wait for the police.
– The young store security, like the people gathered, was visibly upset and argued with a woman in a white dress. I approached him and told him that there was no need for the electrified atmosphere to continue to worsen, that the police would soon arrive, that they would determine what the intention of the woman in the white dress was. Then I went into the store. When I paid the bill and left, I saw a woman lying on the concrete, surrounded by citizens and a young security from the store. I thought I was sick. Some of those present helped her to sit up and then I saw her bloody face and I thought she had hurt her face when she fell when hitting the concrete – she says, adding that there were still many protests from people gathered and agitated against the security workers.
– I thought there would be a confrontation with him, and he saw that the gathered people turned against him and retreated to the store. After that, the son of the injured woman came to the car, the police, the ambulance, concludes the interlocutor.
