Wikipedia of Serbia celebrates 15 years of existence, and as the manager Ivana Madarevi told Tanjug, that organization cooperates with cultural institutions, libraries, museums, institutes, institutes, all those institutions that have cultural heritage in their archives and that want to digitize it and use it. Wikipedia as a tool to present cultural heritage to society in general.
It is said that 30 to 50 texts are published and supplemented daily, and these contents are immediately visible and available on the Internet, while administrators monitor changes in real time and, if there are no references, instruct the creator to correct the text .
During the last year, the first 10 most visited articles in the Serbian language were the series Besa, Novak Djokovi, aban auli, krsne slava … The act of writing articles on the subject of human rights, in which 11 editors participated, In just ten days, it even brought 110 written and supplemented content.
When it comes to controlling the accuracy of content being posted, Madarevi says that patrols and administrators are in charge of it …
“The text can be supplemented over time, and the patrols set up a template that warns readers that the text is not finished, that is, someone is working on it,” says Madarevi. He also says that the current work of the organization has adapted to the new circumstances of the kovida-19 epidemic, and that the number of employees has not been reduced. According to him, the volunteer application process is not complicated and anyone can apply if they want to be a volunteer, after which they are referred to Wikimedia programs and, depending on the time, decide the name they want to do.
From January 15 to February 5, for the third consecutive year, Zadubina Wikimedia, in cooperation with the University Library “Svetozar Markovi”, carried out an action to edit references, that is, data sources on Wikipedia, and the result placed Serbia in second place to contribute to the verifiability of information on Wikipedia. . On Thursday, December 3, an online celebration of the 15th anniversary of Wikimedia Serbia is planned, where the results and challenges they faced in 2020 will be presented.
