Prague authorities announced today that seven disintegrating bodies were found in a container delivered from Serbia, Reuters reported.
The statement specifies that the container of fertilizers left Serbia in July, and that it was found on a ship that set sail for the port of Asunción a few days ago. The bodies were discovered today when the container was opened, port authorities announced.
Prosecutor Marcelo Saldívar stated that the bodies found were assumed to be blind passengers. Investigators found Moroccan personal documents of the two victims, as well as a taxi bill from Serbia.
“We assume that they came to Serbia from their country and that they did not estimate well how much they would travel,” he said, adding that the food and water they found was enough for only three days of travel.
Police said a vent was found in the part of the container in which the bodies were found. The Paraguayan authorities will contact the authorities of Morocco and Serbia to try to establish the identity of the victims.
