The Vojvodina Consumer Protection Association and the Serbian National Consumer Organization have published a “blacklist” of online retailers, which were found not to be operating in accordance with the regulations.
The number of consumers who contact consumer organizations for purchases through social networks of unregistered sellers is growing day by day and, unfortunately, in this situation, the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law are not applicable.
Consumer organizations cannot act or provide adequate legal advice, except to refer consumers to independent judicial proceedings, stated in the advertisement.
The two organizations reviewed several merchants on the social network Facebook and determined the list of those suspected of not operating in accordance with the regulations.
“It is important to note that the list is not final, does not represent a representative sample in terms of the number of ‘black’ merchants, nor does it represent a list of merchants that are most frequently opposed by consumers,” the statement read.
