Serbia still without a government, Vučić already talks about new elections

Serbia does not yet have a government, but there is already a lot of talk about early parliamentary elections. Not only the opposition is talking about them, but also the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who claims that in a few days we will find out who the opposition will be in parliament.

While Prime Minister-designate Ana Brnabić is working on the composition of the cabinet in Nemanjina 11, the President of Serbia is already talking about a new vote.

“Whether we have other elections, we will see who will boycott them or not, we will also see that,” says Aleksandar Vučić.

The history of the new elections becomes intense after the report of the European Commission. He says the ruling party was given a major campaign lead in most of the media.

“They were illegal and illegitimate, all the institutions after that, and we have not yet received an assembly, they were issued, and especially the Government, it is not the result of the electoral will of the citizens but the result of the personal will of the party of citizen Aleksandar Vučić, “says analyst Cvijetin Milivojević.

The parties that boycotted the elections in the new announcements, see their victory.

“That means that the boycott was successful and that Aleksandar Vučić is aware that he has a one-party, one-regime assembly, which is essentially the Main Board of the Serbian Progressive Party, and Serbia sees it and all of Europe sees it,” believe Borko Stefanović.

“It is very clear to him that due to the boycott of the elections, today there is no opposition in parliament, and that parliament exposes its autocracy,” said Stefan Jovanović of the People’s Party.

N1: As an opposition, you have been a harsh critic of the government, you have been in power for almost nine years, you have been harshly criticizing the opposition, so is it strange to you that the parliament has almost no opposition?

Who will it be, I think you will be able to see in the shortest time possible, and maybe you are right, maybe there will be no opposition, my question is how do you know ”, answered Vucic.

Just a few days ago, in a meeting with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelji, Vučić said that he was prepared to bear the consequences of what Europe suffered.

“And it is that Mr. Vučić, abusing his role as President of the Republic, raised the votes in favor of his foreigner, and that is more or less his diagnosis”, estimates Milivojević.

Who progressives will be with in a coalition should be officially announced in a few days.

“It is very clear that the opposition stayed outside parliament, those who are in parliament today will be part of the government. Or at the republic level. They will be at the local level,” believes Jovanović.

“No one can convince us that Shapic’s party is the opposition, that it is in coalition with the SNS throughout Serbia, and especially in the city of Belgrade in all municipalities,” says Stefanovic.

The president of Serbia has the latest investigations on the ground, as he says, four days ago, and after that, everything in parliament would be the same today.

“None of these parties, which pride themselves on being great political opponents, would enter parliament, none of them, which has more media space than all of us together,” says the president.

The usual date for the presidential and Belgrade elections is 2022.
