He adds that there is much room for our country to continue with the “new smart policy of strengthening the alliance with America.”

Milic tells Tanjug that he thinks the most important thing is to explain to the Serbian public why it is important to be a better partner with the United States, which was led by the administration of President Vucic, adding that there is plenty of room for Serbia to find its place. bilateral cooperation with the United States, especially in the field of defense.

“There is no need to fear,” says Milic, and when it comes to solving the Kosovo problem, he points out that it is necessary to seek the same criteria and make comparative analyzes of where is Serbia, where is Kosovo, where is Serbia, where is Bosnia , in terms of contributions. regional peace and security.

Milic points out that policy towards Kosovo depends on relations between the United States and Germany, and in that sense adds that we must wait for the elections in Germany.

However, when it comes to policy towards Kosovo, as Milic puts it, Biden must be told that the Kosovo problem must be solved in the geopolitical context of the 21st century, not at the end of the 1990s, but also in terms of justice and the amount of punishment and reward for both. the other side.

According to Milić, the Senate in America has great power, and in addition to legislation, he affirms, foreign policy is also defined there, and points out that it will be important to solve the problem of Kosovo who will be the Minister of Defense.

He thinks the defense minister will almost certainly be Michelle Flurna, who was the youngest woman to ever serve in senior Pentagon positions during the Obama administration.

As for the Washington agreement, Milic says that it is an indisputable fact that its implementation was brought by Richard Grenel and the Trump administration, adding that it could be heard that Biden’s environment has no problem with that agreement, except for the objection of which was not done in cooperation with the EU.

He adds that the Trump administration withdrew everything that was well thought out and for which there was no political will, but political obstruction by Kosovo officials, and soon added good components, such as exchanging the air traffic database with the American database.

According to Milić, this removes part of the responsibility from Serbia, as well as Kosovo, in the context of new and dangerous terrorist attacks.

Milic adds that the criticism that the deal was not made in the EU deal does not hold up to the end, because Washington did so in cooperation with the EU until the EU completely surrendered.

He also notes that the Washington agreement will not be touched because it has supraparty support in the United States Senate in the package with the Middle East agreements.

Milić says that the criticism of President Vučić for the Washington agreement is scandalous and adds that the advantages of the agreement are that there is the possibility of relocating large productive chains from Asia that come closer to us, then leveling the ground, that is, a small space economical like the Balkans.

“This is the most sensible thing to do. At the same time, the geographical advantage of Serbia is that there is a three seas initiative where the countries that are already members of the EU are further integrated to respond together to economic and economic projects. joint infrastructure “. he adds.

In that regard, the DFC office will not leave Belgrade, Milic is sure, adding that the Washington agreement and the US response to the China Silk Road Initiative, but also to Russia in the Black Sea and all events in the eastern Mediterranean.

“They are competing now and that’s the good thing,” says Milic, explaining that the DFC is where the United States has defined its strategic interest.

He believes that bilateral cooperation in the defense field is a way for Serbia to show its courage, the credibility of its army and the credibility gained in a large number of multilateral operations, and to show that it is a credible partner in bringing stability. southeast of Europe.

“In return, it should ask for small concessions with respect to Kosovo that have nothing to do with ethno-nationalism, but with the distribution of resources and the legitimate question of the status of the Serbian community, because if the United States already controls the security forces in Kosovo, the best way to never do anything bad to the Serbs is “Serbia and the United States are cooperating militarily and bilaterally,” Milic added.

He stated that Biden formed his impressions of some, not all, Serbs based on what he saw personally on the ground when he arrived in the 1990s, that is, at the beginning of the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but that our country has changed a lot and is much more democratic. It has never been and is more stable.

He points out that Biden is a liberal interventionist, but not a liberal adventurer, and recalls that he stated that agreements should not be made with Slobodan Milosevic and that he will not respect them.

“Unfortunately, it turned out to be true,” says Milic, adding that Serbia has changed a lot, going through sanctions, bombings, cooperation with The Hague, respecting Resolution 1244, thanks to the United States’ continuous policy of conditioning.

Milic believes that the new US administration will be more concerned with domestic policy than foreign policy, but, he adds, it seems that US domestic and foreign policy has never been more connected.
