SERBIA GET OUT OF THE BLACK CROWN ZONE! The peak is behind us, this is what the latest estimates say when the END OF THE THIRD WAVE will be, but also what is more important now

[ad_1]

The third wave of the coronavirus epidemic in Serbia is experiencing a slight lull, and while we still record four-digit numbers of new cases every day, there is still a glimmer of hope for a ‘better tomorrow’, but! with great caution! The good news is that Serbia has come out of the worst black crown zone!

Recent records of black corona, when we had almost 8,000 new cases of coronavirus in one day, have been cut in half in recent days, as was the case yesterday when we had 3,823 new cases.

We have not had a situation like the beginning of this week for a long time, when fewer than 1,000 infected people were registered in Belgrade during the day. Although we always keep in mind that on Mondays we usually notice a slight decrease in the number of crowns, because according to established practice citizens rarely go to the doctor on weekends, the good news is that on Tuesday we have less than 1,000 new infected ( 964).

However, the fact that the number of patients in Belgrade has varied between 1,000 and 1,200 in recent days shows that the crown is not being delivered, so yesterday 1,040 were registered. This is said to be a good sign that the capital is moving in the direction of a triple-digit number of new patients.

Also, the good news is that the number of patients on ventilators is declining and, according to the latest data, that number is 300, as opposed to two days ago when there were 12 more, but also a far cry from the previous record: 353.

We left the black zone

The optimistic news was shared by information technology professor Dr. Petar Kocovic, who with his team uses mathematical models and formulas to monitor the movement of the corona pandemic around the world, and according to his interpretation, Serbia changed from black crown area to dark gray two days ago. That means that we finally have less than 1,000 infected per 100,000 inhabitants.

Serbia left the black zone on Thursday

– The diagram of the dark gray zone shows that the finish in this zone has moved from January 3 to 4, 2021. This means that the discipline is insufficient. So it can be better, as always – says prof “Blic”. Dr. Kocovic.

That is, as announced by Professor Kočović, according to current data on the number of newly infected, our country should emerge from the third wave of the epidemic on February 18.

Professor Kočović cautions that in most countries, after 15-18 days, the population relaxes, so the curve slowly moves uphill.

– The fact that we left the black zone, in itself is not enough – said Prof. Kocovic.

Mitigation measures

That the situation in Serbia is somewhat more favorable is best demonstrated by the fact that the anti-epidemic measures were relaxed on Monday, so that cafes, restaurants, shopping centers and service activities will run until 8 pm, and yesterday in the session of Crisis Staff it was decided that this measure is valid for the weekend. .

These measures must be strictly respected, said Prof. epidemiologist. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović at yesterday’s press conference adding that we still have a very serious epidemiological situation.

Whenever we have a more favorable outlook, it is a signal for the relaxation of citizens, Tiodorović warned.

Whenever we have a more favorable outlook, it is a signal for the relaxation of citizens, Tiodorović warned.

– The medical part of the Headquarters believes that there can be no concessions, we talk about the weekend so that it is a way to supply the population and prepare for the new year, to buy gifts, for example. We have reviewed the square footage per customer. The mistake was having 4 square meters. We have raised the square footage to 9 square meters, declared and announced rigorous controls and penalties, especially in Kopaonik, Zlatibor.

This is not the time to relax

While there are signs that the epidemiological curve in our country is slowly decreasing, that does not mean that it is time to relax. We are still recording a large number of deaths from the crown, the capacities of the hospitals have been filled and the epidemic pumps are in front of us in the form of the holidays that follow.

The experience of the previous months has shown that every time we had a slight decrease in the number of crowns, there was a relaxation of the population, said Prof. epidemiologist yesterday at a press conference. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović.

– We thought we would have a drop in the number of patients. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The population is on the brink of resistance, but we still have to be prepared to fully implement the measures – he explained.

As we know, from the beginning of the epidemic, the only thing that can help us until mass vaccination begins is to respect epidemiological measures.

How should we behave now?

A new session of the Crisis Staff is scheduled for Monday, in which it will be decided which rules and measures will be valid for the New Year holidays. Incidentally, epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Kon recently noted that “it is clear to everyone how the New Year should be celebrated.”

– As regards the celebration of the New Year, it is clear to everyone, as well as to Saint Nicholas, the appeal therefore seems excessive. We must endure, not give in – concluded Dr. Kon.

Recently, the director of the World Health Organization office in Serbia, Marijan Ivanuša, assessed that the epidemiological situation is calming down and expressed confidence that there will be an improvement, if the implementation of the measures continues.

However, he warned that if the New Year is celebrated in the usual way, the consequences could be terrifying and urged citizens not to relax during the holidays.

– So if the New Year is celebrated in Serbia in the usual way, seven to ten days after the New Year, we will have results that will certainly not be favorable, and can be terrifying. The situation regarding this virus has shown some regularity: if the measures are followed, the situation is better, and if not, the virus continues to spread, more people get sick and many die, Ivanuša said.

Light at the end of the tunnel

The long-awaited news has finally come true: the first doses (4,875) of the Pfizer vaccine have arrived in Serbia, and the day before yesterday will be remembered as historic because the corona vaccination began. Thus, Serbia became the third country in Europe to start vaccination against the corona virus.

First to receive the vaccine was Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, followed by the Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, Dr. Darija Kisić Tepavčević, and then the epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Kon, as well as the specialist in general surgery and abdominal, Dr. Predrag Peško.

In addition to them, the first citizens, users of nursing homes in Belgrade and Novi Sad, were also vaccinated two days ago, and yesterday the immunization process continued in the gerontology centers of Nis and Kragujevac, where they were supposed to receive it. about 100 users.

In early January, we will receive another 20,000 doses. By the way, as announced by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, he expects that there will be a mass vaccination in our country in mid-January, announcing up to a million citizens vaccinated.

Speaking of vaccines, the director of the WHO office in Serbia said they would help end the pandemic, but would not fix everything immediately.

– As the kovida-19 crisis continues, we still need to take all necessary measures to prevent the spread of the virus and death. It will take several months to vaccinate enough people to reduce the burden of the epidemic, Ivanusa noted and concluded:

– Certainly, we hope that 2021 will bring the normalization of the situation in Serbia. If not before, at least in the second half of the year.

The light is finally visible at the end of the tunnel of the fight against the corona, but it must be clear to all of us that we are still facing a difficult period and there is no place to relax.
