Serbia before the suspension of negotiations with the EU

DS President Zoran Lutovac stated that the European Commission report shows that the EU doubts Serbia’s real commitment to European integration and assesses that Serbia is about to suspend negotiations.

Lutovac pointed out that the EC report is being relativized in the “regime media”, but also by some experts, who, as he says, want to show a certain balance in the analysis or, he says, may want to be recommended for some positions in government.

To avoid suspension, Serbia, says Lutovac, must pay attention to two key things: the rule of law and its attitude towards normalization with Pristina.

According to him, those are the recommendations and warnings of the report.

It is also said that Belgrade must change its rhetoric in relation to the EU and its approach to European integration.

He affirmed that the announced formation of the Ministry of Human Rights and Social Dialogue was a consequence of the Commission’s report, and when asked if this ministry could contribute to reducing tensions, he said that “no ministry or institution can contribute to reducing tensions if there is no political will. ” “.

He says that this political will for the normalization of political relations has not been expressed, on the contrary, political opponents run for “mud and tabolides”, they are spoken of with the worst vocabulary.

– The European Commission also warns about that – said Lutovac, adding that the report also confirms that there are no “free elections” in Serbia.
