BELGRADE – Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić declared last night that the reconstruction of Sava Square will completely change the way part of Belgrade will function.

“The largest pedestrian plaza in Belgrade is being built there. The area will be around 12,000 square meters, and tram, bus and car traffic will run around the edges,” Vesić told TV Pink.

He said that the part for car and bus traffic as well as for the tram from Karadjordjeva direction to Nemanjina was released.

“So now that you come from the Old Tram Bridge, you can turn right, which was not possible until today, and go to Nemanjina without any problem. Trams 6, 7, 9 and 14 have started again and the line of Tram 12 has been renewed. ” Vesić pointed out.

According to him, in the next month, tram traffic from Savska direction to Nemanjina will be released for up to two days, as well as car traffic, Beoinfo announced.

First, as he explained, in the next few days, bus traffic will begin, and after the relocation of the sewage pumping station, traffic will go along the edges.

“In the center will be Prešac’s largest square in Belgrade, 250 new trees will be planted soon, and in the center there will be a 23-meter-tall monument to Stefan Nemanja. It will be erected at the suggestion of President Aleksandar Vučić,” said Vesić. .

With the eviction of the bus station and the renovated train station, that area will look completely different, Vesić concluded.
