Miroslav Mišković’s Delta company became the new owner of the Sava Center, at an initial sales price of € 17.5 million. The sale of the largest congress center in Serbia, the Sava Center, was carried out this morning through a public tender. This was the third attempt to sell this symbol of Belgrade.

Delta Congress Center was the only bidder in the public sale of the Sava Center announced by the City of Belgrade, recalls the portal Nova.rs.

The buyer is expected to invest at least 50 million euros in the adaptation and reconstruction of the congress complex, which is located on almost three hectares of construction land, within a period of five years.

In addition to the fact that the buyer must invest at least 50 million euros in the adaptation and reconstruction of the congress complex within a period of five years, he has the obligation not to modify the purpose of the “Sava” Center.

It should continue to be a function of congress tourism, taking into account that the facility enjoys the condition of prior protection. Historical-artistic works, such as immovable cultural property and furniture in the building, are not sold.

“Upon concluding the contract with the buyer, a penalty will be agreed in the amount of 20 percent of the purchase price reached, in the event that the future buyer does not fully or partially comply with the obligations, as well as provide a first-rate bank guarantee such as guarantee for the eventual payment of the contractual penalty. “, It is stated in the public announcement published by the city of Belgrade.

Complete renovation, appearance and purpose are preserved

As Delta has already announced, it is estimated that the investment for the renovation of the Sava Center will be more than 60 million euros.

Delta announced that it plans to completely renovate the largest congress center in Serbia.

It was specified that the investment includes the replacement of the glass façade, the production of new electrical installations, as well as cooling and heating plants and the implementation of completely new multimedia installations.

Delta stated that they are ready to maintain the look and purpose of the rebuild, and to create a new Sava Center inside, which will include modern digital communications, restaurants and cafes, car rental agencies, and tour guide services.

Dobrica Veselinović, an activist for the Let’s Not Drown Belgrade initiative, also attended the public tender and announced on her Twitter account that Delta is the new owner of the Sava Center.
