Whether the current acting dean of the Faculty of Philology, Andjelka Mitrović, has the right to remain in that position for another 52 days, while the state of emergency lasts, is a question that the Ministry of Education does not answer for Danas on the second day.
If he is right, which was recently confirmed by the Ministry with the signature of the Minister of Education Mladen Šarčević, it is unclear why he told Filološki employees yesterday that they received a “clear warning from the Rectorate”, when in that letter the Rector Ivanka Popović unequivocally states that Mitrović is a worker the relationship ended on October 1 and that the Faculty must elect a new interim dean.
That the current acting Directorate of Philology ignores the rector’s orders is demonstrated by his statement yesterday, in which they said that a series of letters sent by Popovic to the vice president of the FF Council contradicted the valid decision of the Ministry, according to which Andjelka Mitrovic works for. dean.
On the other hand, the Rector’s Legal Service, which concluded otherwise, also alleges that it received that interpretation after consultations with the Ministry, which is why the question arises as to who is really “pulling the strings” at the top of education, if contrary messages arrive from the same direction.
Nothing is clearer even after yesterday’s announcement by the Ministry, in which Šarčević on the one hand criticizes a part of the employees who oppose the current interim direction of Philology, and on the other hand says that “he will especially seek the responsibility of the secretary of the faculty who did not fulfill his obligations “. works closely with current leadership.
“Instead of convening a Council session and a Scientific-Teaching Council session, it seems that they cannot do it and transfer the responsibility to others. They did not elect a new president of the Faculty Council, although they had to do it, “says the minister.
And the acting leadership of the Faculty says it faces intense pressure and unfounded criticism.
– Some members of the Teaching-Scientific Council and some members of the Council are persistently demanding pressure to convene a Council session to elect another interim dean, thus consciously ignoring the application of the legal interpretation of the Ministry of Education that the employment contract can be extended for 52 days. It is stated in the announcement of the interim administration.
Yesterday, the minister warned that, if the necessary acts and elected bodies of the Faculty are not approved as soon as possible, the financing of that higher education institution can be stopped, because there are no governing bodies.
Šarčević assessed that there is no chaos in the Philological University, but rather a struggle for power, and that “the attempt to pressure and impose the future dean through constant pressure on a certain part of the public is a manipulation of the truth.”
Deadlines have expired
Although the Minister recalls that all the deadlines received by the Faculty for the adoption of the Statute have expired, the acting administration has just organized a vote on amendments to the Draft Statute, which ends tonight, after which the Council of NN must approve it, and then the FF Council. The University must also be declared in this document, so that a contest can be called for the election of a new dean.
