One of the neighbors we found at the site of the fire told Novosti that she learned of the girl’s death from the media.
– I’m very, very sorry. From the death I heard from the media, I couldn’t believe that Minja couldn’t bear it, I am very sorry for the child. I was very shocked because the girl wanted to live, she is small, she went out to the terrace to escape – our neighbor tells us.
According to him, the entire neighborhood was hired to raise money to help renovate the apartment.
– When everything happened, the surrounding tenants all the tenants of the surrounding buildings collected help. Now, as you can see, the roof is being done, but I don’t see anyone in the apartment where the fire started because the tenants are locked in.
Another neighbor, Snezana, told us very briefly:
– I can not believe what happened. He was in front of the building when the fire broke out. We all expected the girl to come out, but here came the sad news …

Let us remind you that a fifteen-year-old girl, Minja D, who was seriously injured in the Dorćol fire and brought out of the fire by the heroic action of construction workers, died in the Tirsova University Children’s Clinic.
The girl suffered third degree burns in a fire that broke out in her apartment on October 27 on Visokog Stevana Street in Belgrade. As speculated at the time, the fire was caused by a fallen celebration candle.
There was a real drama: for more than two hours, the firefighters tried to contain the fire and save the girl.
Minja was taken to the Emergency Center with burns, and then an action was started to donate her skin to save her life.
