The modern expressway will allow safe traffic from Kragujevac to the motorway whose frequency is 12,000 vehicles per day.

Serbian Roads Director Zoran Drobnjak visited the section of the Kragujevac – Batocina highway today.

“We did not come to boast of 4.5 kilometers, that is our routine, we did it in a year and a half. We came to say what else we will do. We are making plans and will make a new loop and toll at Batocina. It will be much bigger. and will move to Batocina. We will start with the works in spring ”, he said.

The director of Serbian Roads in Batocina said that projects are being prepared for the construction of a fast highway that will connect Kragujevac with the Moravian corridor via Mrcajevac.

“The project should be ready in March. Then the contractor should be selected and construction begins,” he said.

The total stretch from Kragujevac to the Batočina loop on the highway is 25 kilometers long and costs about 5.5 billion dinars, he said, adding that the highway can now be reached in 15 minutes.

He pointed to expropriation as the biggest problem they faced during the construction of this expressway. He added that there were many problems with the water supply, sewerage, optical cable and telephone.

The president of the municipality of Batocina, Zdravko Mladenović, assessed that the completion of the works on this road is a great day for that municipality.

“We now have a good and safe connection from our settlements connecting that road. The road is also an impetus to attract foreign investors. Batocina presented a detailed regulatory plan for the Zirovnicko polje industrial zone. Now it is a location at 7-8 minutes from Kragujevac and the highway, which is one of the best locations in Serbia for investors, “he said.

He added that the road is an impetus to revive the economy and Batočina is finally coming out of the deadlock.
