A man DM (39) from Glogonjski rit near Belgrade was taken to hospital, after, as is suspected, he ate the meat of his father Aleksandar dead for days, who most likely died a natural death. The horror was discovered on Friday, when neighbors began to smell an unbearable stench from the apartment on the second floor of the building.
The body was falling apart
– The neighbors then realized that they had not seen Aleksandar for days. They called the police and when they broke down the door, everyone was stunned. The body in an advanced stage of disintegration was in bed and DM, who is otherwise mentally ill, was hiding behind furniture. The police tried to talk to him, but he only knew how to say his name and kept repeating: “I didn’t eat for five days, I had nothing” – says the source and adds:
– It is suspected that, due to hunger and illness, he tore parts of the body of the deceased father and ate it. He was first transferred to the Infectious Diseases Clinic and it is highly likely that treatment will continue in a psychiatric institution. Residents of Glogonjski rit say they heard stories that there were bites on the body of the deceased. – DM was sick, if he ate his father he did it because he did not know what he was doing. The unfortunate man was probably hungry and didn’t know how to get out of the apartment. We heard that parts of the stomach of the corpse were torn off – says the shocked local.
Neighbors of the building say the father-son apartment is dirty and full of garbage.
– That family lived in terrible conditions, we do not pay attention to the unpleasant smell, because it was always felt from their apartment, and they could not boast of hygiene – says the neighbor Draga.
There was also violence
Neighbors add that they have been trying to help father and son for years.
– DM went out three times a year. What they looked like is creepy! The son had long hair and a beard, and his nails were at least 15 inches long. He looked out the window, gripping the butt with his hands. We call the authorities several times, ask for help, the neighbors say and add:
– Aleksandar used to eat in front of the building, hidden in the park, and we wondered if he gave it to his son to eat.
They didn’t even bathe. As they add, there was violence in that family.
– The husband had to react once, because he could no longer see them fighting each other. He then stole Aleksandar’s stick with which he beat his son, the story of a neighbor.
He lived alone: he was educated
The building’s tenants say Aleksandar and his son moved there a few years ago.
– He said he was highly educated, an expert in mechanical engineering and had a large pension. Unfortunately, your son became mentally ill as a child. Apparently Aleksandar had a wife, but she left them a long time ago, neighbors say.
