A new drug against the coronavirus virus “remdesivir” will be available to patients in Serbia from Monday.

The director of the Republic Health Insurance Fund, Sanja Radojevic Skodric, said that Serbia had acquired “remdesivir” and that its distribution would begin on Monday.

“It is a very expensive drug, which is administered only at a certain stage of the disease and will only be administered with a conciliatory decision,” said Radojevic Skodric.

Due to the corona virus epidemic and until we have a suitable vaccine against it, it is especially important that all vulnerable groups receive a vaccine against the flu, but also against pneumococci, he stressed.

Additional quantities of pneumococcal vaccine have arrived in Serbia, which is especially important for the immunization of people over 65 years of age who remain in institutions for the accommodation of the elderly and adults.
