Ivan Kontić was arrested the day before yesterday in a rented apartment in Montenegro, after more than a month in hiding from the police.
Montenegrin police announced that Kontić was deprived of his liberty on the basis of an international arrest warrant and that he was hiding in a rented apartment in the Zabjelo settlement in Podgorica.

– Agents of the Criminal Police Sector – Department of International Operational Police Cooperation INTERPOL Europol Sirene today, around 6 pm, conducted a selective search for several days, with the help of members of the Special Police Sector, arrested Ivan Kontić, a citizen Montenegrin – stated in the statement.
Let us remind you, half an hour after midnight on August 24, in front of the bar on Jevrejska Street in Novi Sad, Kontić attacked Miljan. M. brutally beat him while the young man lay unconscious on the ground.
At one point, as can be seen in the security camera footage that appeared two weeks later, Kontić attempted to break both of the young man’s arms.
The video shows Kontić grabbing the victim by the neck, but also another young man who pulls the victim by the shirt and hits him on the back with his knee and then on the head with his fist.
The beaten Miljan M. reported the brutal attack to the police a few hours later when he went to the hospital due to numerous injuries.
