RELATIONS WITH SERBIA TOP PRIORITY: Member of Prime Minister-designate Krivokapić’s team of experts claims Serbs were discriminated against

– Relations between the two countries, ranging from economic to kinship, should be a priority and I think we will find understanding for that in Belgrade – said the Montenegrin.

Commenting on the negotiations on the new government, he evaluated for Radio Belgrade that it would be based on meditocratic principles, that is, that all the parties and coalitions that participated in the overthrow of the Milo Djukanovic regime would participate in the government in proportion to the electoral results.

– The principle of proportionality must be respected. This is the only way we can deal with the crisis, from the economic to the epidemiological, the Montenegrin mentioned, adding that only when it comes to the most sensitive departments, such as finance, should an expert solution be sought.

The Montenegrin also referred to the situation of the Serbs in Montenegro, estimating that in the previous period it was “really bad”.

– Montenegro is a civil state, not a state of any nation. That’s the constitutional solution, and it’s a good one, considering the demographic makeup. In a state where there are no majority of people, otherwise it would be a recipe to generate discomfort and lack of social cohesion. As for the attitude of the previous government towards the Serbs, it was bad, especially in terms of representation in state bodies, and the new government will change that. There is no doubt that there was serious and systematic discrimination – said a member of the expert team.

– He points out that the census is near, and as is known, “the relationship between Serbs and Montenegrins is very fluid,” RTS reported.

Srećko Crnogorac reiterated that an amendment to the Freedom of Religion Law has already been agreed, which was the trigger for litigation and mass gatherings of citizens.
