The president of the Independent Association of Serbian Journalists (NUNS), Zeljko Bodrozic, said that the government-controlled media “initiated a deliberate and very dangerous action to connect independent and professional journalists with the criminal group Veljko Belivuk, with in order to eliminate responsibility for the emergence, strengthening and atrocities. “These and other criminal groups that have multiplied in Serbia in recent years.”
“The information from Pink Television and the regime tabloids about the connections between the KRIK research portal and Belivuk are nonsensical constructions and no one who follows the public scene and the work of the KRIK editorial office can believe this falsehood.” But the The big problem is that only a large number of citizens have access to the media that spreads and spreads these heinous lies, and that is why the safety of our brave colleagues who have been writing about corruption and crime for years is now in danger, “Bodrozic said in a written statement.
He added that he hopes that the state prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac and the acting prosecutor in the Mladen Nenadić case will urgently announce and withdraw the target of the KRIK journalists.
“But also (to) warn state officials and the media that obey them not to disrupt and undermine the investigation of crimes and criminal acts of organized criminal groups,” said the president of NUNS.
CRICK: We will continue to fight the lies.
The Crime and Corruption Investigation Network (KRIK) announced tonight that he has once again been the target of the pro-government media, which are trying to discredit him, this time connecting him directly with the leader of the detained criminal group, Veljko Belivuk.
Several pro-government tabloids published on the covers of their March 10 issues that Belivuk was cooperating with the KRIK portal, which was his “private media”, with whom he had a “secret deal”.
“KRIK is, who knows how many times, the goal of the pro-regime media who are trying by all means to discredit our work,” KRIK announced on his Twitter account.
This outlet has been targeted by pro-government media and government representatives before, after publishing investigative stories.
“And this time your support means a lot to us. Thank you for being with us and we promise that we will continue to investigate the crime and fight the lies,” said KRIK.
