New Year’s Eve in Belgrade is quiet, with a large number of people on the streets of the city center.

Although the catering facilities are closed at 6pm, a large number of belgraders walk through the city center, and most of the people are on Kneza Mihaila Street and Kalemegdan Park.

There are mostly older citizens of the capital on the streets, and most respect the measures of wearing a mask.

Skadarska Street, where a large number of citizens traditionally gather on New Year’s Eve, is completely deserted this year due to the corona virus pandemic.

The vehicles of the communal militia go through the center of the city.

Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić announced tonight that the communal militia patrols visited more than 400 food establishments starting at 6 pm and that all were closed.

The Belgrade Ambulance Service told the Beta agency that New Year’s Eve continues as usual and without major interventions.

The police patrol the city and carry out controls.
