When he arrived at the scene, the locals gathered and subsequent shootings were heard.
Pilot Mandic: We warned, but no one heard us
Former pilot Borisa Mandic said that the death of the pilot of the MIG-21 aircraft, which occurred today in the Mali Zvornik region, was “a catastrophe of immeasurable proportions.”
Mandic said the injured pilots were his students.
“These are my students, I deeply regret and sympathize with the pain of their families. There will be time to talk about all that and learn lessons. We should sit down at the table and learn lessons so that such accidents do not happen again, “Mandic told nova.rs.
He claimed that he flew MIG 21 for years and taught many pilots to fly.
“We have been advising, proposing and offering solutions for years, but nobody has listened to us,” said Mandic.
He adds that it is a small population of pilots, which, he explains, “means a lot, that it is too expensive, and it is lost …”
“It will be a day to say with sobriety, people, what happened, that no more should be done,” concluded Mandic.
Two pilots were killed and a resident was injured in the crash of the MIG-21 military plane, which crashed around 9 am this morning near Mali Zvornik.
The plane crashed in the Brasina village area near Mali Zvornik during the execution of a regular flight task, the Defense Ministry previously announced.
