Print of the Week: No Hate Mask Produced

The guests of the program “Impression of the Week” valued tonight that there is a lot of hatred, disgust and vulgarity in social networks, for which there is no justification, no matter how satisfied or not they are with some personalities or what they represent in society .

Olja Bećković’s guests were director Gorčin Stojanović, editor of the Serbian New Political Thought and former MP Đordje Vukadinović and Local Front activist Predrag Voštinić, writes Nova.rs.

Noting that there is hatred outside of Twitter and other social media, which is frequently broadcast on television and national newspapers, Vukadinović noted that the spirit of that pathological hatred was promoted by current President Aleksandar Vučić and the Serbian Progressive Party.

“It existed in various forms before, but it metastasized with the arrival of SNS and Vučić, all that media lynching and sensational arrest warrants for anyone who says something against the government,” Vukadinović said, noting that Vučić managed to infect his opponents with that. hate.

He pointed out that hatred, paradoxically, is the greatest success of this regime, that it is more contagious than the coronavirus and that it is not easy to combat it.

“There is another strategy, when Vučić produces that hatred, then he runs away and starts to be disgusted by it, demanding a normal society,” Vukadinović added.

When asked how a normal person can become infected with hatred, Gorčin Stojanović noted that “a mask for hatred was not produced.”

“We live in a necrophilic society and the media needs to exploit it,” Stojanovic said, adding that we are a society that constantly forces death, not life.

Predrag Voštanić pointed out that hatred can easily disappear and that society can slowly humanize itself only if the right things are promoted from the right place.

“That way we can change things.” “Hatred has not affected everyone and it is not incurable,” he said.

Speaking about the death of the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej and the elemental decency and vulgarity regarding that situation, Vukadinović said that it was a shame and a great loss, not only the departure of Irinej but also the Metropolitan of Montenegro Amfilohije.

“These are the first two people of the Serbian Orthodox Church in terms of titles, authority, people who came in serious years, fulfilled their earthly mission. It is a serious loss and a blow to the Serbian Orthodox Church,” said Vukadinović, expressing his hope that the church turns out to be an adult and can cope with that temptation.

Speaking of the malicious comments that could be read on social media on that occasion, Voštanić said that in recent days we had the opportunity that the church, whose existence is based on a personal relationship with God, had the opportunity to show us how to behave in the time. pandemics.

“On the other hand, the State insisted on visibility, rating, what is useful to it, and to fear everyone and to the detriment, that is, it did not give any example of how to behave and how to prevent infections,” he said.

Noting that he is not pious and does not have a sense of loss, Stojanović said that it is still necessary to express reverence on the occasion of the departure of the head of any church, including the Serbian Orthodox Church.
