President Vučić publishes a photo of the flight to Pranjan (PHOTO)

Today, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić attends the celebration of the 76th anniversary of Operation Halliard in Pranjani, in which more than 500 pilots and crew of American planes shot down over Serbia were rescued and rescued in 1944.

He shared a photo of the flight to Pranjan on his “Future of Serbia” Instagram account, with the following message:

– Today, in Pranjani, near Gornji Milanovac, we confirm the strength of the friendship with our American, British and Canadian allies of the Second World War.

76 years ago, from the makeshift Galovića polje airport, the inhabitants of the Pranjan region and the Yugoslav army in the homeland under the command of General Dragoljub Mihailović rescued more than 500 American pilots as part of a mission called Halliard.

An airport will be opened in Galovića polje in Pranjani as part of the Halliard mission.
