The pipes are already full and the compressor stations were running like clockwork on Thursday.

Journalist question

When asked about gasification, the president explained the situation with the price:

– We will see that I am a connection, along with local taxes, we will do something, because people are escaping, because those are large numbers. Starting Monday, we will sit down and find a solution that costs much less to connect than that. We want to start charging for gas. We will provide more money through gas billing. We will have cleaner air. It is a stupid policy to charge dearly for a gas connection, because people don’t want to give up that money. We will provide a connection to the lowest prices so that people can get gasoline, and then our air will be cleaner and it will pay off financially.

– In Palilula, people told me they had gasoline, but it was expensive. So we have to figure that out. For example, in Vladicin Han, “Teklas” would build a new factory, but there is no gas. This is an event of crucial importance for the economic development of Serbia. The Serbian government will soon find a way to facilitate gasification for citizens, the president concluded.

President’s speech

– In Zajecar, gas just originated and began in the territory of our country, and from here we distribute it through the primary and secondary systems. We got it for up to $ 155. This is strategically very important to us. We will collect a transit fee together with our partner. We have an even greater opportunity to attract investors. Having gas in all municipalities guarantees a safer future. As regards Serbia, with the help of Russian partners, we have managed to ensure gas efficiency. An important and great day for our country. Gas day starts at 6 in the morning and that’s why we get together so early.

Speech by the Russian Ambassador

– Happy new year one more time. This is truly the best gift for the New Year, and we immediately have a great event in the development of our bilateral relations. This gas pipeline will guarantee the security of Serbia, energy stability will be guaranteed. The pipeline and new infrastructure-related opportunities are fully in line with the economic development guidelines presented by President Vučić. This will also be important for Central Europe. There are also additional opportunities for Serbia to become a gas transit country and attractive for new investment. I want to once again congratulate everyone who worked and thank the President of Serbia – said Bocan-Kharchenko.

In the end, Dušan Bajatović addressed the gathering:

– This is a great day. We install the most modern equipment, we work with the most modern materials. Europe will need gas from this pipeline. We received an order from the president to make a gasification plan for Serbia as soon as possible – said Bajatović.

– Gas now goes directly to Banatski dvor.

The president thanked once again all those who participated in the works.

The most modern equipment used: gas release

The President also visited the interior of the pipeline facility, where he was shown the most modern equipment used in construction.

– Good morning – the president greeted the workers again, in Russian, to which they also responded in Russian. One of the workers spoke to him and the president thanked him for the enormous work he had done.

– For us this is of great importance, both for the economy and for all the inhabitants of our country. I wish you all the best, this is an important day for our country. Let go of the gas for even more success and good health. Let the gas start and long live Serbia and long live the friendship between Serbia and Russia! – said the president, after which the gas was released.

Supply of the Serbian market has technically started.

The president greeted the workers

The President greeted the workers present, including the Russians, congratulated them on the Year and wished them well.

– For us, this is something big and important. Until now, we have complained that we charge dearly for connections, but now we will look to expand the secondary network to Leskovac, Vladicin Han, Surdulica and Vranje. We have to go to Timok and Bor districts with a secondary pipeline. Therefore, Serbia is much richer and more attractive to investors – said the president in the presence of Russian ambassador Bocan-Kharchenko.

THE PRESIDENT VISITS THE WORKS

The president was tasked with devising a way to get gas to Bor and Prahovo as easily as possible.

They told him that in the spring he would think about how this would be done.

– The last parameter was also met, the gas pipeline is bidirectional, that was one of the conditions of the European Union.

– We even have a virtual delivery point, which is critical for the future. This will not be realistic for now, because when there is a reduction in Ukraine, Hungary will also run out of gasoline, Bajatović said.

It should be remembered that with the entry of blue fuel through the “Balkan Stream” near Zajecar, Serbia “cemented” its energy security and created opportunities to provide gas below itself, both for the economy and for citizens.

The so-called Bulgarian border – Hungarian border interconnector, 403 kilometers long, will make our country more attractive to investors and bring growth to the economy and industrial production.

Furthermore, Serbia will now be able to be a gas transit from two directions and earn money from it. It is very important that it no longer depends on gas delivered through Ukraine, mainly due to bad political relations and constant tensions between that country and Russia.
