Tomorrow in Indjija, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić will attend the solemn groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the tire factory of the Japanese company Tojo Tires.

Indjija Municipality President Vladimir Gak previously told Tanjug that this will be the most significant investment so far in Serbia, considering the investment amount of € 367 million in the first phase, the size of the facility and the fact that Toyo Tires belongs to Mitsubishi Corporation.

The main contractor for the construction of the ship, which will cover about 20 hectares, as you said, will be the Japanese company Takenaka, but there will also be room for our builders as subcontractors.

The construction period is 17 months, after which the factory is expected to produce five million premium tires per year for the European and Russian markets.

The municipality of Indjija provided land with an area of 64 hectares and the necessary infrastructure.

As previously announced, Toyota Tires should employ 537 workers at the new plant, whose wages will be above the average in Serbia.

The Japanese giant was founded in 1945, with the group’s headquarters in Osaka.

The group’s business activities are based on three basic branches: tires, automotive technology and chemicals.

Tojo tires have been present in Europe for more than 30 years.
