On the “Mira Trailović” stage of the “Atelje 212” theater, the premiere of the play “Dabogda te majka rodila” was directed by Tanja Mandić Rigonat, who also signed the dramatization, based on the novel of the same name based on autobiographical moments from the famous writer Vedrana Rudan.
In anticipation of the event, the famous writer says for “Blic”: “When the premiere was supposed to take place in March, I was completely ready for the arrival, that is, for one of the happiest moments of my life.” But the crown reached me. She came and fucked me. This time, sadly, I am not going to Belgrade. My son and daughter forbade it. They told me: you are a Croatian writer and you have to die from the crown in your native land, in our beautiful country and not far away. Personally, I sincerely believe that the show with such a team will be a success. However, I especially greet Ceca Bojković, who seems to be my daughter and plays my mother. And many miracles have been and have happened, so I can say this: Belgrade, see you again, says Vedrana Rudan.
The play, in short, brings a scenic story about a woman in her middle age and her mother, whom she placed in a nursing home. Their relationship is layered with various emotions, questions, then feelings of guilt and remorse, the desire to get rid of the burden, questioning the (im) possible boundaries between love-hate-tolerance- (mis) understanding … The topic opens of women as victims of domestic violence, social norms, sexual violence, and then their need to get rid of the traumatic place or stay in it as long as possible. “May your mother give birth to you”, in addition to screaming and crying, are words for the mosaic of women’s confessions and dilemmas.
The roles are played by Svetlana Bojković, Marta Bereš, Jovana Stojiljković, Dara Đokić, Isidora Minić, Dragana Đukić, Sofija Juričan, Ljiljana Stjepanović, Branka Šelić, Fedja Stojanović.
