Petrovac na Mlavi – In mid-October, a new product, “silver mask”, will appear on the market in Serbia and the region, in sizes for children and adults with an additional level of protection, which was created as a result of connecting national producers “Koloid “and” Galenika farmacija “. The “silver mask”, whose production at the Petrovac na Mlavi plant was mediated by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), is the result of the application of modern nanotechnologies, where silver and zeolite ions are permanently integrated into tissue by ultrasonic ionization, which is an additional level of protection, advises Tanjug.
The Secretary of the Association of Pharmacy and Medical Activity of PKS, Mirjana Vučićević, during the tour of the production capacities, stated that the association “Galenika farmacije” and “Koloida” is an excellent model for the creation of innovative, competitive national products in the international market.
– I hope this cooperation is a great example for others to connect, exchange ideas, develop solutions and create quality products. The Serbian Chamber of Commerce will always be an institutional support for the national processing industry and its efforts to create new values, said Vučićević.
The director of “Galenika Farmacije”, Ljiljana Topic, pointed out that the company produces protective equipment, sterile and non-sterile products and has more than 50 different medical devices registered in the registry kept by the Agency for Medicines and Health Products. – On the Petrovac side, we are highly specialized in the production of protective masks for children and adults. We recognized the strategic partner of the company “Koloid” and started the first step, in the production of colloidal silver children’s masks, and the first quantities will be delivered on October 10 – said the director of Topic.
“Galenika farmacija” is manufacturing 200,000 protective masks for children in a new plant in Petrovac na Mlavi and, after that, will start the production of adult masks with silver ions. This company produces sterile and non-sterile compresses, plasters, band-aids, bandages and sanitary supplies, car pharmacies, lockers and first aid kits.
The CEO of “Koloida”, Božidar Backović, points out that his best experts managed to integrate ionic silver and zeolites using ultrasound, which is ultrasonic ionization technology, and keep that silver for a long time in the mask fabric. Therefore, he explained, they provide additional antimicrobial protection and extend the life of the mask.
In cooperation with the Novak Djokovic Foundation, the first series of 100,000-piece silver children’s masks will be donated to first-graders in primary schools across Serbia.
