Politika Online – Exit Festival moving from Serbia?

[ad_1]

The most famous and visited national music festival, Novi Sad’s Exit, could change direction next year, that is to say, be held elsewhere, states the Croatian Jutarnji list, referring to an unnamed well-informed source. Apart from Umag in Croatia, Montenegro, but also some rich Arab countries are mentioned as possible locations for the next edition of the festival. According to this information, the closest to hosting the event is Montenegro, which wants to attract young people from all over the world, because they are the population that most easily decides to travel in uncertain pandemic conditions. In addition, this neighboring country is counting on an income of about 30 million euros, in addition to a good opportunity to promote tourism. Umag, as they say, has an advantage in relation to Montenegro, as it is better connected to Europe by air, while the Arab countries have fewer possibilities, mainly because of the distance, because few visitors from the Balkans could afford to leave.

The reasons for the relocation are, of course, economic in nature, that is, Serbia, according to the source of this document, did not help the music industry and festivals with the budget, affected by the epidemiological measures against the coronavirus. . . According to these claims, the festival, which did not take place this year due to the pandemic, suffers a great financial loss, so it would have to lay off a hundred full-time employees before the end of the year, and without some big sponsors.

We were unable to verify the relocation information with the festival organizers, because the phone numbers known to the editorial office are not available.

In addition to the festival at Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, which has been running since 2000, Exit is holding five other events: the No Sleep Festival in Belgrade, the Revolution Festival in Timisoara, the Sea Dance in Budva and the Sea Star. in Umag.
