Epidemiologist Dr. Branislav Tiodorović stated today that no lockdown measure will be introduced to suppress the spread of the corona virus epidemic.
“Tomorrow the Crisis Staff is seated, the first issue is the assessment of the epidemiological situation. However, I believe that at this time we will not be able to go, nor is it justified in general, with some closures such as in Great Britain, France, Italy, Hungary, because we are still in a much better situation, “said Tiodorovic.
According to him, blocking is never a particularly good solution.
Tiodorović recalled that people in the profession drew attention in September that November and December would be difficult, which obviously a small number of people who are creating big problems did not accept adequately.
According to him, for now, there is no reason or justification to introduce a curfew or a state of emergency, because that would only lead to increased tensions and an irresponsible response from those who are in the minority, but behave in a selfish and supportive way.
“Although it is completely clear that all the rafts and discos should have been closed, mainly in Belgrade, for which there were recordings and documentation, but the part that was needed did not do its part. It is not the health system, which is now under great pressure. , than those who were supposed to implement the measures, “said Tiodorović.
As he says, the situation is now somewhat better in the southeast of Serbia than in the north, west and especially Belgrade.
However, he adds that in the South, there are now 50 percent more first ambulance exams, which means that people now have a greater need to report for problems.
In the south, it is especially bad in Presevo and Bujanovac.
“Vranje Spa, who has fought very well so far, will probably be under a lot of pressure now,” Tiodorović said.
He said that across Serbia, there is a large increase in the number of positive tests, as well as tests being done on a larger scale than before, which, he says, should continue and even increase.
Tidorović added that there was a change in the age of those infected, that is, before most of them, 60-67 percent, were between 20 and 40 years old, and now there is a more active workforce.
“It is not a question of whether someone is obedient, but of whether he is responsible and it is not a question of democracy but of civilization. I appeal to everyone not to get involved in the situation, to apply the strictest measures, like others countries, and we don’t have to get into that situation. ” Tiodorovic said.
When asked when we can rest, Tiodorović said that the “peak” can be expected in mid-November.
“So, if everything is under control and if self-confident and disciplined citizens prevail, we will have a controlled situation, that from mid-November we will begin to lower the curve, that the health system will fight,” said Tiodorović.
