pink.rs | A MUTATION THAT MADE CHAOS IN SERBIA! Out of every three people infected with the British strain, children are more at risk than adults

In Serbia, 35% of the British strain of coronavirus is present, which, according to research and data obtained by the scientific community, is around 60% more contagious than the usual variant of coronavirus and, as claimed, attacks the population younger. more often.

Data on the percentage of presence of this strain of the virus were presented by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and a similar data was presented by Dr. Tiodorović, who less than a week ago pointed out that the possible presence of the strain British in Serbia is around 30%.

As a reminder, a new strain of the corona virus was first discovered in September in Britain. In two months, about a quarter of the cases in London were this new variation.

It was brought to Serbia in late December last year by a passenger from London. She tested negative for PCR and her husband had double pneumonia.

Attacks children more often

Crisis staff and epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Kon recently stated that we already have the British strain and that it is very likely to dominate in schools.

– It is more noticeable that there they do not use protective masks. At least according to what can be seen in schools – added Dr. Kon.

Dr. Eric Feigl Ding, an epidemiologist and guest lecturer at Harvard, posted a series of data on Twitter in mid-February showing that the British strain of coronavirus is most contagious in children.

– Data from Great Britain show much higher positivity for kovida-19 in England (where the new strain of the virus is very dominant) in children aged five to nine years, and in boys and girls, for four consecutive weeks – wrote the Dr. Ding.

That someone is infected with the British strain does not mean too much
Dr. Milanko Shekler, virologist and microbiologist at the Specialist Veterinary Institute “Kraljevo”, also expressed his thoughts and views on the British strain, as a guest on RTS.

– Their presence has been registered in Serbia and is known to exist. They are likely to try to dominate, as in the region, but in terms of protection or a more severe clinical picture or mortality, there is no evidence that these strains are more dangerous. It spreads more easily, so a smaller amount of virus is needed, but it does not mean much if someone was infected with the British or with one of our strain, that is information from experts – said Dr. Shekler.

Are vaccines effective?

– As for the British strain, it has been unequivocally proven that all these vaccines that are used in the West, Russian scientists have shown that for “satellite”, there is no data for China, but it is clear that this vaccine is produced quite decently protects . All of these vaccines are very effective for the British strain, somewhat less for the South African or Brazilian strain, but they don’t worry anyone. This is a fact only for those who are already dealing with a professional team, but vaccines protect for now, says Dr. Shekler.

Pascal Sorio, chief executive of AstraZeneca, which makes the Oxford vaccine against kovid 19, said in late December that the company’s vaccine was also effective against a new strain of coronavirus discovered in the UK.

The Biontek laboratory announced on January 20 that its vaccine is also effective in protecting against the British strain of the virus.

What are the symptoms of the British virus?
At the University of Southern California, scientists, based on an analysis of the incidence rate of symptoms compiled by the WHO, identified the sequence of symptoms and how they develop.

Their findings indicate that the symptoms are in the following order:

Fever

Cough and muscle aches

Nausea and vomiting

Dijareja

What are all the strains registered so far?

British strain it is not the only corona virus mutation that has occurred. At the end of last year, cases of Brazilian and South African mutations were registered.

South African strain

A strain called 501.V2 was discovered in South Africa in mid-December and later, among other countries, in the UK and Japan, The Guardian reported. A South African strain of kovida was discovered in a man returning from South Africa to France, a border region with Switzerland.

Brazilian strain

The so-called Brazilian strain turned out to be very similar to the British version, but it does not cause more severe clinical pictures than the first crown form, but it still spreads faster and more easily. The scientists explained that with the words that the part of the beaks has been changed, that is, the protein that is responsible for “hanging” human cells.
