Pfizer, Russian, Chinese: Will we also witness problems with vaccination?

The documentation on the vaccine from the Pfizer-Biontek company arrived this Wednesday at the Agency for Medicines and Health Products, and its control began today, after which a decision will be made on whether the vaccine from these manufacturers will be used to immunize the population. against coronavirus. The media also write that 20 doses of the Russian vaccine should reach the Medicines Agency for laboratory testing. The vaccine will not save kovida-19, experts warn, and the vaccine itself is already eliciting contradictory views from the citizens of Serbia.

Studying the documentation is the first step on the road to getting the vaccine in Serbia. It is not known when the decision will be known. The Agency for Drugs and Medical Devices says: ASAP. They add: it will be thoroughly checked if the vaccine is safe and effective.

“On the one hand, this is the story of the companies, but we, as the Serbian state regulator, as in other developed countries, have to confirm if this is really the case and if this vaccine has all the properties it claims. before issuing a permit and if it can be used to immunize citizens, “says Pavle Zelic of the Agency for Medicines and Health Products.

In addition to the Pfizer vaccine, the Russian vaccine could soon be used in Serbia. Vecernje novosti writes that the Russians will send 20 doses of their Sputnik V vaccine for laboratory testing today, which was previously announced by Ana Brnabić. According to the prime minister, the Chinese vaccine will also have the possibility to register in Serbia.

“We are the only country that will receive the vaccine immediately, without participating in clinical studies,” said Prime Minister Brnabić.

Even if citizens can choose the vaccine they will receive, that, however, will not mean the salvation of kovida-19, at least for the wider population, experts explain. Apart from the fact that the first doses of the approved vaccine will be vaccinated first by health workers, the army and the police, the disease, as they say, will remain with us.

“We must not think that in January we will all be vaccinated, it is realistic to put hundreds of thousands of doses and vaccinate doctors and nurses, those who work in the most delicate jobs, then the army, the police. You and I will not get vaccinated before the end of the summer, we’ll see “As long as the protection lasts, it looks better than was thought. The disease will be there, we will have to get used to it, the only thing is that we will not have such epidemic waves” said epidemiologist Zoran Radovanovic.

Therefore, instead of increasing problems with the spread of the coronavirus, next year we could witness problems with vaccination. And that, as experts warn, will also be a matter of confidence in the profession and politicians.

“The problem of vaccination will divide us again, into those who will see it as a light at the end of the tunnel and those who will see it as a hole in the well where they will push us, I don’t know, Bill Gates and others, and what we must oppose it at all costs. “There is a real concern among people about how safe vaccines are, when they are produced so quickly and who to trust,” said Dragan Popadic, a social psychologist.

Demostat’s survey on citizen attitudes towards vaccination showed that Serbian citizens’ attitude towards coronavirus vaccination coincides to some extent with their political affiliation, with 46 percent of respondents saying they would receive the vaccine if it was a recommendation from a doctor, while 31 percent said under no circumstances would they receive the vaccine.
