After almost eight years, Zoran Radovanović is no longer the director of the Nis Clinical Center, but the secretary of state in the Ministry of Health, officially adopted by the Government. His successor, former mayor Zoran Perišić, took over the director’s chair and says he is becoming familiar with the problems and the situation at the institution, and promises to work for the benefit of the profession and patients. He points out that he will try to take advantage of the fact that he has been working in Klinički for more than 3 decades and that he was the mayor of Niš in the best way in his new position.

Radovanović was director of the Niš Clinical Center for four years, and then remained in office during that time, because the competition for the election of a new manager was not announced. During the coronavirus epidemic, according to employee testimony, he was on more sick leave than at the Clinical Center, the institution he sued while on his way, he writes “Južne vesti.”

However, he was not left without a role, because the Government of Serbia officially elected him Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health. The journalists were unable to obtain a comment from Radovanović, because he has not been available on various known phone numbers for several months.

Radovanovic’s successor is Zoran Perisic, who did not want to talk about it until the official elections, but today he did.

After visiting the Clinical Center, he said that the situation is stable, that there are still places in the hospitals and that the system that he found works very well for now.

“Due to the opening of the kovid system from the side, there will certainly be more pressure on the non-kovid part of the Clinical Center and we will find ways to solve all these patients. What is very important is that people are extremely motivated to work. With this type of motivation it is something that impresses, I think that the citizens, the patients who come, are fully aware of the situation we are all in. Here and now on the tour, everyone was under masks, well dressed, for me it is positive in this at the moment I still have to look at the potentials and the problems and the whole situation, ”says Perišić.

Appointment in the middle of a pandemic

His choice as interim director came as no surprise to many: he had previously run for the position himself and recently his name was among those “in the game.” The appointment came in the midst of a pandemic, when KC Nis again faces an increase in patients and a new wave of viruses, but Perisic says he is not thinking about all that and wants to work.

“The (Radovanovic) mandate expired even earlier, but now an 8-year cycle has ended, and this is how it works in other systems, that two terms, more or less a material fatigue, it is logical and regardless of whether there was a ad. or not, the previous director did his job and now moves to another position of responsibility, so I would not deal with whether the dismissal is expected or not. It just happened now and my job is to work, “says Perišić.

Perišić says he will try to take advantage of the fact that he has been working at the Clinical Center for just over 30 years and knows how it works, as well as the fact that he was mayor, in the best way in his new position.

“So I will try to combine both experiences for the benefit of the profession and the citizens of the whole region, because here we can no longer speak only of the citizens of Nis, because KC as a tertiary institution takes care of the whole region,” says Perišić.

About next week’s closest associates

His closest associate will be Radmilo Janković, and according to Južni vesti sources, they come from opposite and conflicting currents.

However, Perišić points out that there is no doubt that he will cooperate with Janković in the most professional way possible and that their relationship will be the same in the future.

“I greatly appreciate and respect Professor Janković and his work in this whole environment and, of course, there should be as much cooperation as possible, we are on the same path and in the same struggle,” says Perišić.

Today he did not want to talk about attendees, because he says that on Monday he will decide on several attendees and will announce the names of his closest collaborators.

He did not want to confirm or deny that Radovanović’s assistant Goran Stanojević and the daughter of epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorović Danic will be among them.
