BELGRADE – By the end of December, all pensioners will receive a one-time financial aid in the amount of 5,000 dinars each.
The allowance, which will be given to a total of 1.7 million pensioners, will not be paid with a pension check, but will be paid to pensioners as special income at the end of December.
The exact date of payment will be known in the next few days and the money for it has already been provided.
It will be a New Year’s gift for retirees, so that this year of crisis due to the corona pandemic virus does not abandon the practice that has been present since 2016.
The money of about 85 million euros has been contributed and these days it will be transferred to the account of the Pension and Disability Fund.
It has already been announced that all pensioners should expect a linear increase in income of 5.9 percent of the January pension.
After the increase, the average pension will increase from the current 27,769 dinars to 29,407 dinars, or 1,638 dinars.

Practically, from 2021, instead of 10,000 dinars of pension, pensioners will receive about 600 more dinars, while those with higher incomes (more than 100,000) will have an increase of at least 6,300 dinars.
Pensions will grow next year according to the “Swiss formula”, which means adjusting the income of senior citizens with 50 percent inflation and 50 percent growth in median wages, and the Serbian government has announced a new model from 2022 that would allow even greater growth. 400 euros until 2025.
