Despite the lawsuit brought against him by the President of the Union of Doctors and Pharmacists Rade Panic, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic continued as before, reiterating that the only thing Dr. Panic is facing “is to overthrow his country. “, and that his statements Croatia, Sarajevo ..“.
Vučić also said that he would “gladly confirm everything he said”, and that, according to his own assessment, he did not insult “but exposed the facts” by speaking of a doctor who points out deficiencies in the health system, while fighting for the health of citizens in spacesuits on the front line.
Precisely because of those qualifications, that he is a “traitor” and that he is “destroying the state”, Panić filed a private lawsuit against Vučić.
He says for our newspaper that the lawsuit he filed is serious, but does not threaten prison, and that is why the president allows himself this type of behavior and continues with the same rhetoric.
When asked if he thinks that Vučić would refrain from repeating such qualifications if the threatened punishment were greater, our interlocutor said that he was not sure about that.
– I can’t say for sure, but maybe otherwise your rhetoric would be different. If you think the court works independently. This lawsuit is also a test of the independence of our judiciary, which will show whether it has the strength to treat all citizens equally, as required by law. If the court does its job, Vučić will lose because the facts and the evidence are on my side, and he has nothing – says Panić on behalf of Danas.
According to him, the president of Serbia only repeated the claims at the press conference for which there is no proof.
– I look forward to your statement that you said you would come to repeat it in court. Now the president said something many times, and then he didn’t. Time will tell. The trial will likely be delayed, the question is whether Vucic will invoke immunity, although the lawsuit explains why he is not entitled to invoke immunity in this litigation. I don’t know how he would appear in court and with what facts – says Panić.
When asked why, in his opinion, the president sees him as a “traitor” who “destroys the state”, our interlocutor says that he himself has been looking for an answer to that for a long time.
– The only explanation I found in a conversation with friends, but also listening to their statements and observing their way of thinking, is that the president thinks that he is the State and that I am “destroying” it. The data that I present certainly influences the image of this “ideal” situation in Serbia to be crowned, that is, not everyone shares your vision of things. The reality of which I speak certainly affects the rating of the largest party, but also the president himself. That is why the truth bothers him, what I say on behalf of the union and field colleagues, because he identifies with the State. However, I am not destroying him or the state – emphasizes Panic.
Since our interlocutor from the beginning of the epidemic in Serbia pointed out the errors, omissions and weaknesses of the health system, and gave suggestions on how to improve the situation, and on the other hand he was constantly accused of working to overthrow the State, the question arises whether the president The qualification of Serbia is more important than the health of citizens and a functional health system.
– When you look at his actions and statements, then it really seems like this. The most important thing for Vučić is his qualification and the qualification of the SNS. Everything else that is happening is a story that accompanies that constant pre-election campaign in which he finds himself. And the attitude “I am the State” is contrary to democracy and valid legal acts. If someone thinks that he is the state, in medicine we consider whether the treatment is necessary for that, concludes our interlocutor.
Lawsuit against the president
Overnight, Rade Panić, as a citizen, filed a lawsuit against Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, due to, as he said, damage to reputation and parties. Panic told reporters in front of the Second Court of First Instance in Belgrade that Vucic “at least twice” told falsehoods, accusing him of collapsing the healthcare system, but also of betraying the country. “The fact that he is destroying Serbia and the healthcare system is a severe insult to me and something that my cheek cannot tolerate,” Panic said, emphasizing that the lawsuit is private and that he hopes the president will go to court. Vučić, on the other hand, said that he said every word towards Panić gently.
