Over 50 percent of citizens cite THIS as the FIRST SIGN of corona infection

The director of the Batut Institute of Public Health, Verica Jovanović, says that the daily increase in the number of confirmed covid patients indicates that the epidemiological situation in Serbia remains unstable and that an increase in the number of infected can be expected.

“Currently, the only way to stop this increase in the number of infected people is to wear masks, avoid meetings and apply other measures,” said Jovanović.

He stressed that, in addition to treating infected patients, it is important to act preventively and stop the spread of the virus.

He points out that it is important that if someone has a fever, they stay home, isolate themselves, monitor the situation and if there is a deterioration, seek help at the nearest Kovid clinic.

“With the increase in the number of infected patients, the number of patients in the hospital is growing. A number of patients are in serious condition and the number of deaths is also growing,” he told TV Pink.

It is rare, but it happens, that in a family of four, two members of the household are infected and two are not. Jovanovic explains that the infection has to do with the immunity of all people, and that science will give an answer in the future on whether there are genetic predispositions to contract the virus.

More than 50 percent of citizens suspected of kovid, who come to the Trampoline Institute for PCR tests, say they have lost their sense of taste and smell as the first sign of infection.

“Patients should know that recovery takes a long time and that certain tastes and smells take longer to regenerate. It is uncomfortable for patients, it creates additional nervousness,” he explains.

Jovanovic appealed to citizens to wear the mask indoors, to wear it correctly, covering their mouth and nose, but also to regularly ventilate the interior space.
