The Belgrade High Court today approved and publicly announced the verdict by which the former Defense Minister of Serbia and Montenegro, Prvoslav Davinić, and the former head of the Material Resources Administration, General Milun Kokanović, were acquitted of charges of abuse of power.
Davinic was acquitted of the crime of abuse of official position and of the crime of abuse of official position in complicity, while Kokanovic was acquitted of the crime of abuse of official position in complicity, the High Court said in a statement.
The costs of the criminal proceedings are borne by the court budget.
During the announcement of the verdict, the judge briefly announced the reasons for making such a decision, and the parties and defense lawyers can file an appeal against the verdict with the Belgrade Court of Appeal, the announcement indicates.
The Defense Minister of Serbia and Montenegro, Prvoslav Davinić, is accused of signing a contract for the purchase of military equipment from ‘Proizvodnja Mile Dragić’ worth 90 million euros, while he and Kokanović were suspected of abuse during the purchase of two apartments in Belgrade and Podgorica. to the Chief of Staff.
