As part of the Halliard mission, an airport will be opened

76 years ago, from the makeshift Galovića polje airport, the inhabitants of the Pranjan region and the Yugoslav army in the homeland under the command of General Dragoljub Mihailović rescued more than 500 American pilots as part of a mission called Halliard.

An airport will be opened in Galovića polje in Pranjani as part of the Halliard mission.

The airport in the form of a stylized airplane is located in the Galovića field.

The “Halliard” mission is one of the largest evacuation actions for downed Allied airmen in occupied Europe during WWII.
