Dveri leader Boško Obradović said today that in the situation in Serbia, neither a boycott nor going to the polls is a solution, but only a rebellion and an active fight against the government.

We cannot do anything with a passive boycott and we need an active fight against this government. Neither the solution is a boycott, nor the solution is to go to those elections.

We must, with new methods, forms, all together, oppose this government. My motto would be: no boycott, no elections, but a rebellion, Obradović said for H1.

Speaking about today’s events in front of the Serbian Assembly, Obradović assessed that it was a “classic act of anti-fascism”.

When it comes to Marjan Risticevic, who was attacked and his jacket was broken, Obradovic claims that he is a MP who was deliberately left in the Assembly to insult and humiliate opposition representatives.

These are not incidents. I think he is wrong in the press reports, it is not an incident when he defends the Constitution from the violators. “Our lives, institutions, the future of this country have been shattered, will anyone be responsible for that,” Obradović asked.

The peak of the dictatorship awaits us if we do not oppose it. “I did not invite the citizens to be with me today, it was a personal act of rebellion by several of us from Dveri, I invite the citizens to something else, Saturday’s protest at 7 pm, so that everyone can get out in their vehicle”, Obradović said.

He also assessed that the basic principle is when the opposition should stick to “staying together”. Either we all go to the polls together or we don’t. I do not distance myself from anyone, I respect the opposition struggle of everyone, my proposal was, or all together, one or the other, Obradović repeated.

The Serbian movement Dveri announced on its Twitter account that members of that party were arrested after the incident in the assembly, as well as that they were detained in PS Vracar. On that occasion, the Boško Obradović and Dveri MPs were in front of the Vračar police station.
