– I live in Rahovec, Kosovo. For many years, I was engaged in the illegal trade and resale of marijuana, connecting drivers and vendors, and also engaged in the transport of stolen cars, usually from Serbia to Albania. During that job, I met an Albanian when I was doing marijuana trafficking, with whom I cooperated well. He once asked me if he could transport a man from Gracanica to Strpce. I didn’t know who it was. This happened at the end of August 2016, because then I bought a “Fiat” car with which I went to Gracanica to pick up that man. My friends, two Albanians, were driving a “passat” in front of me. We arrived in Gracanica, Mirkovic was staying in a motel, whose name I only learned later. He told me that he would give me 2,000 euros to transport it to Strpce. He introduced himself as a journalist and had a plastic ID … I let him know that I did not believe him in that story – Pista told the prosecutor.
He explained that Mirković gave him 2,000 euros to bring him and an acquaintance to Štrpce. Apparently Mirković admitted to him while driving that he “also used marijuana with an Albanian” …
– When he got into the car he introduced himself as “Yorkie” and during the trip he asked me – “Do you know who you drive?”, And I answered – “Do you know who drives you?”. He said, “I like guys like you, you’re a good guy” and asked me to give him a personal phone number, which I did. After two days someone called me from an unknown phone number and asked if I could go to the cafe. When asked who he was, someone replied that he was the one who asked me if I knew when I was driving. I went to Štrpce, to a cafe … Then he said: “brother, I’m Jovan Mirković”, and I replied: “I’m Bajram Pista”. He asked if I could provide him with a driver on the Albania to Merdar route for the transport of drugs, and I said yes. At the time I met him, I had no idea that so-called encrypted phones existed, or what they mean, but I have repeatedly made “matches” with Mirkovic about drug transport to our mutual satisfaction, and especially in monitoring the drugs. tanks with drugs for the passage to Merdare … He always paid my price for services regularly – said Pista.
The protected witness also said that Mirkovic called him after seven or eight months, asking to see him again at Strpci. He also said he was in financial trouble at the time.
– We enter the cafe in the part where there is no video surveillance. Then he asked me if I would like to earn a lot of money in a short time. I replied, “who wouldn’t like that.” He asked me: “Would you make him angry?” I say to him: “I am Albanian, you are a Serb, how can we be angry?” She tells me that she has famous people in Budva and then she took the gun out of her bag, which scared me a bit. Seeing that, Jovan tells me that we will anger each other in a slightly different way. He takes two bullets out of the pistol magazine and tells me: “one is for you, the other for me. Whoever betrays you, you will take me, I will take you.” That way, he and I got angry – said Pista.
He claims that after that, they made several more drug transports, and then met on the terrace of a bar, where he met Aco Stevanović. Mirkovic allegedly suggested to Pista that he take Aca to Montenegro, where some people would be waiting for him.
– I asked him: “if a serious crime is committed”, to which he told me that it was a different story, and that he would see it when he arrived, but he also added “that I do not have to accept, but that I can earn a lot of money”. Then I saw Aca for the first time, then I found out that he works for TMK, and these are regular formations from Kosovo. We agreed to go together. This is happening in the summer of 2018. My father connected us and we entered Montenegro through the Božaj junction. At the time, I did not know that Aco and Nikola Drecun, whom I met later, were already corresponding in the crypts, my goal was to make good money and finish the job – said the protected witness.
He said they stopped and went into a restaurant on the road between Podgorica and Cetinje, which is all in stone, to wait for a man.
– The guy who approached us at the table was shaking, I asked him what was wrong, he said he was wearing white and he brought it up. I find out it’s Nikola Drecun. We were leaving the restaurant and outside I saw a B-class “Mercedes”, driven by a woman, who introduced herself as Marina. Back in Kosovo, Mirković told me that the little one who will be waiting for us is stable … However, I ask him then why Drecun is shaking. He said that he had a problem with the apartment in Budva and that he was not ready, and that they had a house in Obzovica. He gave us a rental car, rented in the name of Marina, with whom we will do business. Then Aco Stevanović told me to use the crypt, which was bought for him by Mirković, and which will be confiscated by the police in Budva later in 2019. Aco then told me that we had to take Nikola Drecun so that he could commit murder in Budva. By car brought by Marina, Nikola, Aco and I left to follow someone in Budva. He told investigators that they were driving through Budva, from “Tre canne” to the old town, and later realized that “Nikola Drecun was in a hurry.” He said he felt unsafe and asked Mirković via the crypt to provide him with a weapon, which was then given to him by Drecun, a 7.65mm “flag”, as well as 5,000 euros for food and accommodation for him and Here. In prison, he learned from members of the Kavač clan that Mirković was driving Kašćelan while he was in Novi Sad, but also that “Stari was satisfied with him” because he was silent. Apparently Kašćelan once raised his thumb to say hello as he walked, but also because everything was fine. Explaining the planning of Khan’s assassination, Pista said that he decided to tell it all after seeing that the Kavča people had left him high and dry, when “Drecun told everything.”
Speaking about what was happening in Budva when he first came to kill Khan, he said that through Detlic’s contact a message came that “Mali will bring 5,000 euros”, after which Drecun brought money, and after seven days from the house in Obzovica he moved them to a house in Markovići above Budva.
– I applied for an apartment in that house in Markovići with Serbian documents under the name of Viktor Kraft. Nikola told us that this Khan was driving a “Mercedes G-Class”, a black cube. We are all walking and waiting for the situation to complete the task, that is, to liquidate that Khan in Budva. Nikola told me that I should buy a hat or cap to look like a tourist and a casual wardrobe. As I was walking around Budva, he showed me a barber shop where Khan comes to cut his hair and shave. Nikola told me to be very careful and showed me the location in Budva where the police are often found, that they must pass carefully. I find it strange that we don’t find that Khan anywhere on all those Budva tours, so I ask Nikola who that person is. He tells me: “It was very good, but it turned bad, we have been looking for it for a long time, but it is difficult to reach it.” And he tells me: “you know that you work for people who are involved in the clan, that people are shot to commit suicide, you have met a lot of serious people” … Nikola told me: “we have a war”, and that I must have watch out. During our tours, while the three of us were in a rented “megan,” a police patrol stopped us in Budva, Pista said.
He said that the policeman asked him to register his residence, but that he did not have one and that the policeman told him to leave the country, return and report to the TO in Budva, which they allegedly did immediately. He claims that Drecun told them the next day that Khan would be at the hair salon, that they were stalking him, but that he did not show up, so he cursed Mirković with messages, who then offered to kill Khan, “because Drecun obviously can’t “. He said that he was in a dilemma, because he did not know the details, but that he needed the money, so he decided to “take it away.”
– Jovan Mirković tells me that I will get a kilo of cocaine and 50 thousand euros for the murder – said Pista.
He said he and Aco were chasing Kana around Budva at the time, that Detlić ordered a “Czech pistol” with a silencer for that murder, but that Drecun gave him a gun for cocaine.
– So Aco and I look for Kana in Budva, but we can’t find him. Aco then tells me that this Khan is not an ordinary man, that he is rich and dangerous and that he feels when he is followed and persecuted. When I followed that black jeep, I managed to take a picture of Khan, because he went to a house in Sveti Stefan. I filmed him parking upside down, to justify himself, because I could have shot him, but he had no weapon. My chance was to shoot when his little son opened the car door for him. Since he didn’t have a weapon, he couldn’t even commit murder. I wrote to Mirkovic that all this is leading nowhere. He convinces me to stay in Budva, but I tell him that I will return to Kosovo – said Pista.
He also explained in detail where and when, a year later, Slovinić was supposed to be killed, but also that Khan was the Kavač clan’s target that year as well.
